9 out 10 times when I interview these employees and ask them if they have any status in America, the answer is NO !!

@PanickedFoodie It absolutely is!! She had to go back to Children's after we got her diagnosed by outside doctors and the docs at Children's were furious. They spent the entire time she was there trying to discredit her other doctors because they lost the narrative.

I was circling the drain for years, between neurology, vascular, rheumatology, and neurosurgeons. It was exhausting.
It wasn't until I finally self-diagnosed, that we could narrow it down.
And even then, people still kept trying to send me back to

@PanickedFoodie Yes! For our daughter, her hEDS with GI issues and POTS were diagnosed as CRPS, FND, AMPS, DGBI and Functional Abdominal Pain Syndrome. Literally anything to keep from finding the real problem and to keep blaming anxiety and "not trying hard enough".

@pot8um It's actually a critical thing to do in cases where said diagnoses are not taken seriously. If you don't do the research, the diagnosis may never happen and they'll just keep blaming anxiety and diet over and over.

being against self-diag is hilarious because where does it end?
if you break an arm do you tell the ER you're there for a nosebleed? or just point & grunt?
self-dx is a common first step to seeking care.
and with for-profit healthcare, it's often the only viable step.

So we reported the nurse for improperly taking care of my dad's IV (using her thumb to wipe it instead of alcohol pad, etc.) And they just let us know that she basically said we were lying and now my dad is kicked out from the hospital at home program because of it??? Wtf
