The things you don’t see: For the 10 days I was in the Bahamas 4 times the same player was the last person off the range. The number of people he beat in the first round at Atlantis? Zero. Was 16 strokes worse than the leader that day. Sixteen. Missed the cut by miles despite shooting -3 the second day. I was walking on the course during the 3rd round. He was hitting shot after shot on the end of the range. I was going to go talk to him, but as I was walking toward the range he hit a drive, then picked up a ball and threw it onto the range. So I left him alone. He told me spent 5 hours that day on the range. The next day another three hours. The night before the first round of Abaco the same player was one of like 3 players left on the range near dark. “Getting there?” I asked “Closer” he said.
