@SawyerSaysWhat @mattshumer_ Software is seeing an immediate effect bc we can create synthetic problems to train on, but thats not as easily the case for legal, there will be some lag, but the net effect will be the same medium term. Anything that can be done in the digital landscape will be obsolete.

@mattshumer_ This isn’t true for law (I’m a lawyer). I pay for AI and test it periodically on real legal assignments. AI is getting worse, not better at legal assignments. It used to be vague and unhelpful, now it’s specific and almost always MAKES THINGS UP: fake cases, quotes, etc.

@Timcast 💯 agree. In 2 recent sessions I was trying to solve a reasonably simple excel issues and it just kept making the same error over and over even when I explained the issue, it recognised the issue, said it would fix it and then did the exact same thing, It never did this before

Was GPT4 just lobotomized? It responds to queries a lot faster but seems to perform a lot worse than just a few weeks ago (not following instructions properly, making very obvious coding mistakes etc) Quite likely they replaced it with a distilled smaller model to save costs?
