My first impression so far... Crimson Desert is a VASTLY complex game that is a deep dive... a true single-player sandbox game that most modern players are not used to. So far, the main issue many people have with Crimson Desert is that it doesn't include the typical "hand-holding" common in most Western AAA games. It has barely any tutorials and no spoon-fed mechanics, leading to the overwhelming, confusing, and obtuse complaints coming from many players. For most things, you are left to "figure it out on your own", and for many players like me who love the complexity, that's the beauty of it. For me, I HATE tutorials. I hate game "onboarding". I want to just dive in and explore the world and figure out the mechanics as I go along. The other issue is the story. The story is mid, but for the game, the story is just there as a backdrop, not as the main focus of the game. The real "plot" is whatever adventure you, as a player, go on... not some linear track story common with pretty much every other western AAA game. For me so far... the beauty is in the discovery, the “oh shit, that’s how it works” moments, hours of exploration and experimentation. That is where the friction is so far. Complex controls, complex combos, Inventory where you can't loot everything you want, convoluted crafting system, a quest line that doesn't hand-hold, no theme park, no linear narrative epic, and a world where a rabbit hole deep dive is the point. This isn't a game like Elden Ring where its hard but simple, or other open-world games where mechanics are spelled out for you. It really feels like an old-school sandbox with a 2026 open-world glowup.

PLATINUM TROPHY 201 RESIDENT EVIL REQUIEM A very good game that is well designed & polished to a shine. Overall thought the story was great, loved the main characters, I think Grace’s VA better be nominated cause she cooked. New game plus was so much fun too. Lots of cool things to unlock. The insanity run was just absurdly fun, with infinite ammo & RPG on Leon it was just a slaughter, the bad guys stood no chance. Loved it, only complaints are I wish you could skip the little girl sequence in subsequent playthru’s & I do wish Grace had more weapon variety. And the game needed a cool merchant of some kind & I wanted more Leon, but now that I’m done I wanna go back to platinum Resi 3 & 4 next if I can. Overall great game! 9/10

@akaKosmo Sadly, released running like shit and just had overall a bad first impression which is everything.

I’m so deeply sad, this game truly had the key to being the best movement shooter/esport

What Resident Evil Requiem accomplished this weekend: - Launched a incredible polished game - Showed not all games need unreal engine 5 - Showed we don't need a PS6 next year with the insane optimization - Physical copies sold out worldwide mostly (i'm affected too - pre ordered in jan...) - Very likely it will be the fastest selling RE game yet - Amazing user scores on psn and steam and critic scores - Showed how strong single player gaming really is in 2026 Capcom really showed us they are a high contender for the best publisher in the business today (at least #1 3rd party wise)

@RinoTheBouncer Evil Within 2 is severely underrated, its one of those you wish you could replay for the first time again.

Kojima has never been a good game designer and obviously would have made a better film director. Older MGS were good because of strong support staff, not because Kojima was a brilliant auteur
