@elonmusk I'm praying it gets better... At least a more stable algorithm would be nice, something that doesn't cause constant whiplash of vastly different content being served depending on the what hit like on.

This is just sick. Female initated domestic violence is something that almost never get talked about despite it being very common. This example is a pretty typical case, and the man could have easily knocked her out but doesn't as our legal system is so screwed up, even a man defending himself against a psycho lying woman, often get punished. I bet she had been doing this for a long time while also mentally and emotionally abusing the ex and their daughter. Also no... no one can fix crazy like this.

ABC has canceled The Bachelorette after their lead was seen in a leaked footage physically attacking her ex-boyfriend and throwing metal chairs at him while her child was present and reportedly the child was struck during the altercation.

🚨Crews at risk in the Gulf🚨 Just heard from a crewmember on one of the 3,200 ships stuck in the Persian Gulf. A ship called the local port authority requested permission to dock as they had run out of water. They were denied permission! Multiple ships are in the same condition, with stores, food and fuel running low. Ports are overwhelmed and security is such that they are refusing permission for ships to dock. Crews cannot get off and reliefs cannot fly in. What is being done to address this matter @POTUS @SecWar @SecDuffy @DOTMARAD @IMOSecGen @IMOHQ.

I want to read deep analysis, accurate factual takes, and interesting information. I want to see posts from actual experts and not mainstream media slop. I also hate seeing the 3rd world slop post about nothing that's been posted 100x on X. There has to be some way to downrank identical posts on X. I see way too much TikTok, Instagram, and short video content that's reused over and over again. No new commentary, no new context, the same thing.

“struck by what is believed to be Iranian fire” line comes exclusively from two unnamed sources cited by CNN, not from CENTCOM. CENTCOM's actual statement was... "A U.S. F-35 was flying a combat mission over Iran, made an emergency landing at a regional U.S. airbase in the Middle East, landed safely, the pilot is in stable condition, and the incident is under investigation."

There has been FLIR footage of a supposed F35 getting shot by an Iranian missile, and I think the footage is FAKE... likely a doctored FLIR video taken from a video game, and shared by the usual suspects of Iranian regime propagandists. Compare the difference between real, authenticated footage of fighter jets in the sky. Real FLIR is grainy, messy, noisy, and has artifacts. The one from the Iranian regime propoganda is too clean and blurry at the same time. They likely applied a blur/contrast filter to obfuscate the origin of the footage. It also lacks thermal heat blooming from the engines, and yes, even F-35s show a lot of heat bloom... instead, it's just a "gradient stick" coming from the back of the plane, with no halo effect. There are no missile contrails, and the exhaust plume from the missile is absent. The sky is too uniformly "grey" with no background noise or lens effects that create vignetting. With so many automated systems on the F35, there is a 0% chance that the F35 would have been caught unaware of an incoming missile. It would have taken evasive actions, used countermeasures, EW, etc. Instead, it keeps flying straight even after the explosion, which also looks fake.

The solo developer of Tangy TD has made over $250k in just one week after 4 long years of hard work making this fun game... expressing tears of joy on stream. Let's keep upping these numbers! With non-existent marketing, gamers are discovering this game through word of mouth alone and gaining more and more players as the days go on. Players are discovering that the game's core tower defense gameplay is unique, with an interesting take on an old game mechanic, with rougelite, and skill progression systems. The main complaint that people have is that it doesn't have enough content, and they want to play more!! Which is the best kind of criticism one can get that the players want to keep playing more of the game. Meanwhile, other "indie" games like 1348 Ex Voto's player base has collapsed with less than 50 players right now, despite having a team of 15, and is universally hated by gamers everywhere.

The thing that makes it so tanky is that even if all of its hydraulics are shot, it has a manual reversion system where you fly the plane with cables and pulleys. That's the underappreciated element that makes this plane so survivable. It can also fly with one of its engines gone, and a large section of the control surfaces damaged, too.

For those of you not familiar. The A-10 Warthog is the ugliest, most absurdly beautiful killing machine to ever take flight. A flying chunk of titanium molded around a gatlin gun style cannon; the equally absurd 30mm GAU-8. It commands the adoration of troops on the ground as the sound of its unmistakable mating call the “brrrrrrp” overhead means several enemy fighters have been neutralized. It flies low and slow delivering death more intimately than any other fighter jet could fathom. Cloaked in armor, it’s rumored to be able to take damage to 70% of its airframe and still land with ease. It doesn’t need a long or even paved runway. The uppity nerds running the Air Force have decided to “phase them out” this year… yet here they are continuing to “get some”. I personally think that @USMC should take the them over… they fit perfectly in our “take old shit and make it great” culture.

Anime and manga are probably going to change towards a more "mainstream" vibe. It's not a secret that Kadokawa has been having a lot of trouble with sales, with their profits collapsing 90%, so it was only a matter of time before something like this happened. So, this activist hedge fund manager... what does it mean? They buy stakes and push hard for changes, where their main focus is to protect shareholder value, improve the company's standing, and make money off of it. This isn't the first time Japanese companies have been influenced by these activist investors, and typically, they don't destroy them, but they do change them. Several things happened in the past with these kinds of investors, where they cut projects, especially underperforming ones, and focused on more profitable ventures. It also means cutting staff and reducing the labor bloat, which cuts against Japanese corporate tradition. So how does this affect anime and manga? It means less experimentation and fewer niche or passion projects. Increased pressure to chase global trends for anime, and likely turn anime/manga more towards mainstream corporate slop that is loved by consumers but hated by the fans. It also means faster project cancellations and faster greenlighting of new projects, more darts thrown at the wall to see what sticks. Eventually, things are gonna pivot more towards safe bets instead of bold risks, more sanitized narratives, less fan service, less taboo, and less edgy stories to make it more acceptable for broad global appeal. I'm also skeptical that someone like this with this kind of experience will understand how to make anime/manga successful. But one bright spot is that this firm has no history of DEI or ESG mandates... at least so far.

IMPORTANT BREAKING NEWS: This is the face of the Chinese Hedge-Fund "Oasis Management" that just bought 8.86% of Kadokawa a Japanese Company for Anime, Manga, and Games So lets explain why this is Important News. Kadokawa expressed in 2024 they were fearful of a hostile company takeover by a foreign country. Which is why they urged Sony to make a deal with them to buy 10% of their shares. This meant Sony would be the biggest shareholder of the company from that point onward. However there were fears with the direction Sony has been going it would lead to Censorship and Crunchyroll gaining more of a monopoly of anime in the West. The decision however was the lesser of two evils Now almost 2 years later, we have a foreign country starting to buy Kadokawa stocks and quickly rivaling the shareholder power of Sony. This company Oasis is a Hedge-Fund seeking to use Shareholder Activism to force a company to change directions if they want. Shareholder activism can take any of several forms: proxy battles, publicity campaigns, shareholder resolutions, litigation, and negotiations with management. That results in focusing on the investors. We all have seen what investors have done to the Gaming Industry over the last decade. I don't think I need to explain why this is a scary situation. Now we need to talk about the face of Oasis and their connections with foreign countries. The very fear Kadokawa had. Seth Fischer has apparently served in the Israel Defense Forces. He's a co-founder of the Aumann-Fischer Center for Law, Economics and Public Policy at Hebrew University opened in 2022. Oasis has privately and publicly engaged with hundreds of Japanese companies on how they can improve their operations and corporate governance, including successful campaigns in Fujitec, PanaHome, Tokyo Dome, Nintendo, and more. On top of that he is a Vice Chairman of the Ohel Leah Synagogue Management Committee in Hong Kong So in conclusion, its likely Kadokawa will start to replicate some of the signs that the Gaming Industry had for over the last decade. However we just have to wait and see if that happens.

They can't even mount a single offensive strike group to the Middle East. How are they going to defend against the US carrier strike group in a hot war? They don't even have enough interceptors to stop a single carrier strike group's anti-ship missile salvoes. Also, good luck even trying to do that with your radar blinded by EWAR.

@PhoenixSoldier4 An explosion of that proximity would have destroyed the plane for sure. Even near misses with explosions from proximity fuses usually shred the plane with shrapnel, rendering it inoperable, forcing the pilot to bail out.
