Prices of goods still high despite the Cedi’s appreciation against the dollar & fuel price reduction

@code_micky I went to Abossey Okai today with 15,000GH to buy a 3plugs complete Toyota VITZ Engine, I came home with my money, the least price was 17,000GH. Something that was 12k two years ago and when the dollar was 15gh.

It’s tribalism and sabotage by a certain political party and its people. And I have facts here. I’ve been shipping things to a lady in Kumasi to sell. I buy the double pack canola oil and vegetable oil for $12 the container prices are the same. first I used to clear a container between 20,000 to 40,000 Gh. When the dollar went down the money I spent on duty drastically reduced. I give this oil to this lady at 230 but I later reduced it to 200 for the 2 pack not even one, could you believe this lady rather increased it in the market to her customers. When I heard it I was soo pissed I had to look for another person, she was making about 200% from that. That is wickedness.

@code_micky You deliberately ignored the 28% increment in electricity tariffs since Mahama came. They scrapped betting tax buy the have introduced Sports development Levy. Water has been increased by 15%. Rent is very high compared to that in 2024. We know some of you have been bought.

@code_micky You only hit on the problem and forgot about the Solution. Now, I think the only solution to this serious matter is; The government should step in and regulate prices of goods and services to abolish free market system. This is the ONLY way to go.

@code_micky Dollar 17gh fuel 22gh, Air-condition 1.5hp was selling for 1500gh Dollar 10gh fuel 9gh, Air-condition 1.5hp is now selling for 4000gh

@code_micky If we get a Nation Price Review Board or price regulation mechanisms all these will stop. Truth is some vendors have reduced prices but others are still adamant just because it’s an open market. Why is Don Simon 30 cedis in the market but 50+ cedis at restaurants and pubs

@code_micky Finally, someone has the gut to say the truth. I was bullied here when I raised the same topic. The country is hard. On KNUST campus, a simple haircut is 100 Cedis (50 Cedis from last year). Charlie the way Ghana make hard, I need to go back to where I came from

@code_micky Most comments here demonstrate how low the IQ of the average Ghanaian . Fuel price increase = high prices of commodities so accordingly low fuel prices= low prices which isn’t the case. It’s the people not the government making the nation difficult to live in.

@code_micky Some Ghanaian business owners are wicked. 25l Oil was ¢850 NOW ¢485 Dubai Rice was ¢840 NOW ¢580 Beans (sack) Was ¢1200 NOW ¢900-¢950 Maize 150kg was ¢1,200-1,400 NOW ¢500-¢600 But food vendors do not reduce prices or increase the portions, excuses!!!
