Learning to code may be more beneficial than you thought, as it does seem to help kids develop other skills, with this meta-analysis showing benefits to creative problem solving, math & metacognition. It doesn't seem to help with grades or literacy, though pdfs.semanticscholar.org/908f/d1edd2799…

@codeorg Actually, they say "Learning computer programming can support the acquisition of other cognitive skills" and "However, we notice that this evidence cannot be interpreted causally—alternative explanations for the existence of far transfer exist."
