@PythonMaps This graph is wrong. There is absolutely no forest loss in Finland since 2000.

@PythonMaps I'm confused by the color scheme, specifically two color bars for the same area. If a pixel of land has 0% tree cover and was lost in 2000, then is it purple or red?
English

@PythonMaps Oh. This is clever. This is specifically saying "amount of trees cut in the 21st century". This doesn't give a fuck about the actual amount of trees. The fact that Sweden is losing the meadow landscapes because of reforestation is irrelevant here, only Russia Strong.

@PythonMaps luke.fi/fi/uutiset/met…
In Finland since the previous inventory period (2014–2018), the volume of growing stock has increased by 77 million cubic metres, meaning that forest growth has exceeded both timber harvests and the natural mortality of trees.

@PythonMaps Nominee for the worst map of the year 2026 award.

@PythonMaps Why don't Germany or France have forests? And why aren't forests planted there? Instead, they want to colonize the northern forests as their own carbon sinks.
English

@PythonMaps No se están perdiendo bosques en Europa. Se están ganando.
No tiene sentido presentar un mapa de cobertura de bosques como si fuera un mapa de variaciones.
