@elonmusk *slaps roof of starship*
this bad boy can yeet so many GPUs into orbit

Without the Raptor V3, Starship would be massively overweight and would be much less important. Raptor V3 needs no heavy heat shields and no heavy fire suppression systems.
With Starship soon having 42 Raptor engines, all these engines plus engine support systems add up to a lot of weight. We are talking about over 70 metric tons with the "light" Raptor V3 or over 150 metric tons with the original heavy Raptor V1.
Most of the increase in lift capability between Starship V3 and V1 is due to lighter engines and engine support systems! (Starship V1 could lift about 15 tons while Starship V3 can lift 100 tons.)
More info:
The Raptor V3 is 3D-printed with channels that the cold fuel flows through to solve the problem of heat. By cold, we mean around -250F! (The special alloys that the engine is made of can handle about 2,200F so a little cooling goes a long way in helping out the engine.)
Heat shields create enclosed spaces where dangerous gases can accumulate. Remove the heat shields, and then you don't need fire suppression.
P.S. SpaceX has even more tricks up their sleeves. For example, they recently increased the amount of Starlink satellites per Falcon 9 launch by 30% simply by making the satellites much lighter.

@elonmusk Feels so long since we had a Starship launch! Looking forward to it 🚀
English

@elonmusk Awesome! I can start planning my trip already. Elon, I will see you there. 😎🚀
English

@elonmusk My bucket list is to watch Starship to take off in person with my daughter!
English

@elonmusk This is madness! We’re going to become multi planetary, and we can see these live webcasts in such incredible quality through Starlink! Love it!

@elonmusk @keith31345919 Looking forward to seeing Starship land on the moon
English

@elonmusk @NASASpaceflight I’m so excited! Can’t wait to see my first Starship launch!🚀
English

@elonmusk Starship will make us multiplanetary! Great engineering, Elon, perfect! Need to see this in person as well! 🚀❤️

@elonmusk V3 flight using the usual sea-level + vacuum nozzle split on Raptor 3, or any surprise changes to the extensions?
Can't wait for the flight! 🚀
English

@elonmusk Every Starship test feels like another step closer to making spaceflight routine.

@elonmusk Catch it with the giant chopsticks!!! That was so cool the first time. Don't let that be a one-off

Starship is the Most High’s gift to humanity in so many ways. Here are just a few:
1. It’s the first real shot at cheap, reusable space travel—no more throw-away rockets. That alone slashes costs by… what, 90%? Suddenly satellites, telescopes, even tourists—everything becomes affordable.
2. It turns space into infrastructure: floating factories, zero-g research labs, asteroid mining for rare metals. What we dream about now becomes normal.
3. It’s a backup plan. Climate, wars happen—having a second planet isn’t a luxury anymore. It’s an insurance. If you receive arguments please refer them to me.
4. It makes the adventurous less lonely. When you are not “stuck” on one rock the universe stops feeling like a cage. Business!
5. It forces us to grow up. Engineers, coders, welders—whole new careers appear. Kids will grow up thinking “space” the way we think “internet.”
Thanks for letting us know. Praying it all goes well.❤️

@elonmusk Watching the future of space exploration being built in real time is surreal. Can’t wait for the first flight of Starship V3. 🚀
English

@elonmusk One day in retrospect, Starship design will look like God's plan to save humanity. 🚀🙌
