The Power of Recoding in mump2p In traditional data propagation systems, nodes often need to receive a complete message before they can help distribute it further mump2p introduces a different approach through Random Linear Network Coding (RLNC). When a node receives coded shards of a message, it does not necessarily need the full message to contribute to propagation. Instead, it can generate new coded shards from the shards it already holds and forward them across the network. This process is known as recoding. According to the Optimum, recoding enables continuous message dissemination without requiring intermediate nodes to fully reconstruct the original data first. The result is a propagation model designed to: • Keep data moving through the network earlier • Improve resilience when shards are lost in transit • Reduce dependency on specific shard paths • Support efficient dissemination across distributed peers Rather than acting only as relays, nodes become active participants in the coding process, helping maintain data flow throughout the network.
