James 5:16 - Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.

@shagbark_hick In the Protestant world, you will always get disagreements about what the Scripture means. In the Catholic world, a Pope, or a council, can overthrow or add to what the church teaches. So where is the consistency? Both have problems.

From the Protestant point of view, whose interpretation of Scripture can be considered "final"? What do we do if any two Christians disagree on the interpretation of Scripture? I've genuinely never seen any Protestant offer a satisfactory answer to this very basic question.

Yep, if Calvinism is true and man cannot and will not repent until God does a work of regeneration on them then it makes no sense to say that He's being patient with THEM. Logically He's just being patient with Himself. Calvinism makes scripture nonsensical.

I'm convinced that if Calvinists were, one, even a bit objective, and two, studied pottery, they'd leave Calvinism immediately. Imagine knowing nothing about pottery or the Bible and speaking as if you are an expert on it while extremely ignorant? This happens all the time.

@1LLoyd24 @stevebward You’re missing the point. The point is about what we can or can’t choose based on our nature. Under Calvinism this is no different than an animal. Because of our nature we don’t really have a choice, we will always choose only by nature a certain thing, like an animal.

@rowlands_laws I used to read books while watching TV. If my eyesight was normal, I would probably still do that. Let's face it most shows only need a portion of your brain.

We went from “I stayed up too late binging a show” to “I check my phone while a show is on” pretty quickly. I’ve never heard of that second part happening with books.
