@vrillain0 It looks too silly in live action. It works in animation and drawings, but it looks too much like a simple body suit.
It needs mechanical details to make it seem like an actual suit of advanced armor rather than cosplay.
The MCU suits tend to strike that right balance.

@JonKambera98821 @viking_gumball So the blame falls on Future for the unsatisfying payoff, since it was the one who caused Steven to fall apart in the first place.
To conclude, we needed episodes (Like 5 or 6) to resolve Steven's mental health crisis since it was given this much buildup in the first place.

@JonKambera98821 @viking_gumball In the original series and the movie, we were led to believe that Steven was overall fine and had grown past his hang-ups. At least where he can function just fine in his life and be okay with himself.
Future was the one to say "Nah" and made Steven have a breakdown.

Steven Universe Future wasn't perfect but the buildup to Steven's declining mental state is so artistically terrifying. He was born into a world where he needed to achieve a happy ending, and he made it happen.
But then the story kept going.
