what college student can afford to rent a 10 bedroom house
Yuta@rlevi
While attending the University of Pennsylvania, Elon Musk rented a 10-bedroom house and converted it into a nightclub, charging students a $5 entry fee.
English

@LenDogRightOn @Independent_ie Good for the people working in Deloitte (& politicians of course)
For people working in shops, factories, on building sites etc. it widens the gap between them and those on high salaries.
Leaving them less able to compete for houses etc.
English

Threshold for higher rate of income tax should be higher, Deloitte says independent.ie/business/thres…

@BarstoolNate They make more than 5 million kitkats a day.

Can a supply chain expert explain how losing 12 tons worth of Kit Kat bars doesn’t affect supply? Are the Kit Kat factories that efficient they can just whip up a new 12 tons worth overnight?

@loughrealad @thejournal_ie Do you agree with it remaining part of the UK?
English

@2011_Kevin @thejournal_ie Northern Ireland is currently part of the united kingdom.

Thomas Byrne in Ukraine: During a recent visit to Kyiv, the Minister of State for European Affairs saw a city that felt like any European capital — until the lights failed and the sirens shattered the calm.

@loughrealad @thejournal_ie By the same metrics you should accept that Northern Ireland is part of the United Kingdom.
English

@thejournal_ie Ukraine have lost the war. You cannot negotiate from a losing position. Give in to the peace terms and save thousands of Ukrainian lives

Fascism is alive and well in Europe.
Josiah Burke@realJosiahBurke
My brother teacher @EnochBurke is spending tonight in a tiny prison cell in Ireland after refusing to use “they/them” pronouns for a child. This is now over 600 days behind bars. Judges now want to ban his family from attending court. BUT THE TRUTH WILL NEVER BE SILENCED.
English

@Mitche11R @BillboardChris @RealJamesWoods Do the women in your life (if there are any) know that you think it's okay for men to shout them down and intimidate them (to the extent that collegues had to escort her to her car).
It looks like Canada is becoming the 51st state of America.
English

@2011_Kevin @BillboardChris @RealJamesWoods And I think we both rather it be public than private tbh.
English

@Mitche11R @BillboardChris @RealJamesWoods Wow, you think a man intimidating a woman is acceptable behaviour for anyone, nevermind a professional at a public event?
Also learn the difference between "Principal" and "principle".
English

@2011_Kevin @BillboardChris @RealJamesWoods Good for him. I think I get the picture now. He may have made himself into the arse, but he put the woke Principle through hell. The Principle will think twice about doing that pronoun nonsense now, which is wonderful.
English

No, you are forgiving totalitarian speech codes. First, no one ever gets prison for trespassing either. Second, getting fired for not agreeing to trans ideology in a religious institution is somewhat hypocritical. Foreign illegals committing crimes in Ireland NEVER get treated with the same legal ferocity & vindictiveness as Mr. Burke. If a Muslim teacher acted identically to Mr. Burke, there is not a chance in hell, he would have been treated identically to Mr. Burke by the school and the courts.
English

@Mitche11R @BillboardChris @RealJamesWoods Suspended for shouting (&disrupting) at a public event held at the school, & intimidating the principal.
This also apparently included publicly naming the student.
He then failed to abide by the procedures.
English

@BillboardChris @RealJamesWoods Why was he fired though? Pronouns? That's still pretty shitty to be fired for that.
English

@aidanforrest @BillboardChris @RealJamesWoods Disciplinary procedures (which he didn't follow).
He gets paid until the appeal is decided.
English

@BillboardChris @RealJamesWoods Chris he is still being paid his salary, how does that work when he was fired? as you say.
English

@Snoshberry @BillboardChris @RealJamesWoods He is in prison for TRESPASSING. If he agrees not to trespass he will be free. (Until he trespasses again)
English

What you are promoting is essentially forced ideological/belief conversion. That is a very dangerous precedent, unless you agree with the likes of conversion therapy for the gay community etc.
Imagine being imprisoned for being gay, then someone saying "he can get out whenever he wants, he just has to give up being gay".
English

Ireland has freedom of religion. They could not fire him for expressing his religious beliefs. Therefore they suspended him, before bringing a legal case. Not that I agree with him but the same people who attack Mr.Burke for expressing his religious beliefs also celebrate other public displays of non christian religious beliefs, such as Islamic prayers in public parks and stadiums. If one cannot remain centrist and factual, their opinion is simply flawed.
English

@SeeDeeMcLeod @RealJamesWoods I get your inference, but, it was a church!
English

@RealJamesWoods Another Yankee commenting yet again on something they don't comprehend correctly.
English

@PaulTreyvaud In that hypothetical situation would all the "undocumented" Irish in the USA & Australia be kicked back to Ireland?
English

Could you imagine the amazing country we would have if we kicked out every illegal immigrant that should not be in this country, cancelled every single benefit to those that are not entitled it and instead allocated all that money over night to those that are working their asses off trying to provide for their families, helped those that are genuinely in need of support from careers and disability allowances, homelessness and the elderly
The money is there. We just have one of the most cowardly inept governments that this country has ever had that are afraid to do the right thing and protect and provide for the people of this country first and foremost.
We would be the envy of the world if we just did what was right.
English

@paddy_lark @rtenews So similar to the mafia and you are surprised one of them is a criminal?
You aren't making sense.
English

@2011_Kevin @rtenews Smallish community, very tight knit. Not necessarily mafia, but run along similar lines.

@2011_Kevin @rtenews There you go. I'm surprised and saddened. He should still go away for a few years to prison.
