The intercepts and a recovered soldier’s diary confirm it was a battlefield retreat, not diplomacy. As we also knew, Bucha was organized. The 64th Motorized Rifle Brigade (Col. Omurbekov, callsign “Zveno”) ran systematic clearing ops in Bucha and Irpin. @Trey_Explainer @GrandYuric Huh, this is making me think of a possible comparison between Greeks walking through Persia and with Russians walking through Paris after the Napoleonic wars and how that spurred on its officers to the Decemberist revolt. I wonder if the development differences were as stark.
