Fantastic result. Solid first half. On the back foot for a good chunk of the second but found a way to stay in it and made our very few chances count. Garner superb off the bench and a great header from Taylor. Onward you blue beauties #oafc
@oafc24@martinbarlow84 I don't think it was his best game, his late challenge was reckless lucky to avoid a card. Despite many think he got the ball, it was twofooted. Took free header off head of Manny & barely won header in their box all afternoon. Been colossal recently but today was off it #OAFC
We needed bit of guile in box today, we snatched at everything almost panicky. Drummond goal apart looked knackered Stevens too. Mikey all over place. Crying out for bit of patience, bit of quality & timing in a delivery. Defensively we let the ball bounce too often #OAFC
Decent enough performance. Spell in the 2nd half where we just couldn't get a shot away and we don't have a player who's a reliable finisher from the edge of the box. No reason we can't go again starting at Col U. L2 results will be unpredictable from hereonin. #oafc
@AlanBrierley44 Went with my Notts supporting mate. He's there tonight with his lads, I'm sadly watching on the box in Southend with mine. Looking forward to Col U.
In no way undermining our results in this fantastic run, and in some earlier matches, but there are a good few L2 teams who just can't finish. Would like us to be able to see out tight games like that with more control. Nervy. #oafc
Woods, Pett and Payne need to exert more control in the middle of the park. And to get some service to Hawkes. If not, a very long 10 plus time added on.#oafc
Harrogate well set up and we can't get Hammond, Stevens or Drummond (sitting too deep) into the game. Have to get the ball down and start creating some space - long ball ineffective. Every game's going to be a challenge from here. We go again second half. #oafc
@rphamer1984@OLDhamAthshirts@oafc_prozac I recall, badly, that Hull were one of the few teams that came to BP that season and just went for it. Our cavalier approach, reputation and the pitch meant most sides were half beaten before kick off. (I guess we must have sub par though!)
Got nagging doubts about today.
I think we'll win but I remember Ronnie
Moore's team was flying after 6 wins in 8 then playing bottom of the table MK Dons and losing 2-1
Izale McLeod
Hope not 🤦♂️
Let's further banish typical Latics today...
#OAFC
Jamie Robson has been 7/10 every game this season. Never any better, certainly never any worse. I thought he went up a level or two last night including blistering pace a couple of times. 9.5/10 👏💙 #oafc
Excellent point from Chris on the pod re the need for future recruitment to be on point. This very much includes our use of the loan market, which has to be more effective. Can't bring in players who aren't fit or wont challenge for a 1st team spot. #oafc
Great win. Superb pass and a sublime finish alongside some gritty defending. Kav to speak to his old fella about tackling: not a good idea to wrap a leg around an opponent moving forward and away from you. Hope it's a quick recovery. #oafc
