The death rate in Gaza - obviously we're adjusting for pop size - is similar to that of Polish Christians under Nazi occupation, which Lemkin (the guy who coined the term) called a genocide, and most scholars consider a genocide.
You cannot cherry pick the Nazi Holocaust as the threshold for genocide when it's one of the most extreme cases of genocide ever. E.G. one major Einsatzgruppen massacre, or 48 hours of operation at auschwitz or treblinka, would've by itself amounted to a genocide, even though the Holocaust involved years of this.

Yeah, it is nothing like the Holocaust, because it is a war, not a genocide. The Nazis would literally round up Jews and execute them en masse. During Operation Barbarossa, they murdered 30,000 Jews in like a week. The death rate in Gaza is nothing comparable.
