Put on a dress and listened to music for the first time in 10 weeks. I’ll be hospitalized at 33 weeks, cesarean hysterectomy at 34 weeks due to placenta increta. I can finally say I’ve made peace with it all. I’m blessed in so many ways. Wishing you a peaceful day, too 🫶

We see the tower of Jesus Christ illuminated for the first time! The light show, starting from the base up to the illumination of the cross, culminated with a composition of lights guided by drones that traced the figure of Gaudí and the phrase “first love, then technique”.

This Mother’s Day I’m grateful I’m alive. I’m grateful my unborn child is still alive. I’m grateful for my beautiful son and incredible husband for making me breakfast in bed. I’m grateful for all the support and prayers I’ve received throughout my recovery. I’m not going to lie, the last few weeks have been extremely difficult for me mentally, as I’ve encountered some additional pregnancy complications unrelated to the spleen. But all the problems have solutions, and I’m grateful for the doctors and surgeons who are all ready to take care of me and my baby, whenever the time comes. I’m grateful that I got a second chance to be a wife, mother, daughter, and friend. Most people in my position aren’t so lucky. Pregnancy is easy for some, and incredibly difficult for others, through no fault of their own. I see so many women tearing each other down on this site. I want to see less shaming and more celebrating. I mean, we literally create life! And life is so, so precious. No one knows when it’s their last day. Live like it. P.S. it’s a girl 💕 and she’s a fighter 🥹

I left the hospital. I left the ER. I created my own Clinic and my own thing in Denver. I can’t tell you how wonderful it is to practice medicine now. I’m in love with practicing medicine again. It’s changed everything for me. Spread the word. Other docs should know.

My defense is on Monday. A little nervous. A little excited. I gave a practice talk today. It went alright. I have some minor changes to make to my talk but nothing major. I really hope it goes well and after Monday I can call myself Dr.

It’s the first morning that I haven’t cried, so that’s progress. I can also now move slowly without a walker, just a bit hunched over still. Getting me up is the hard part. My baby bump looks metal as hell. Literally. There are over 40 staples from my sternum to my pelvis. Shoutout to my incredible husband, @WalkerAmerica, who has been by my side throughout this nightmare. I truly could not handle this without him. In sickness and in health, boy did he prove it, and I am so grateful for that man. I’m really hoping the worst part is over. I need to believe that. And I’m praying for a healthy and smooth delivery in August. Gonna be a long road, fam. But I hope in a couple years I’ll be dancing in an orange wig again 🧡
