It's crazy how much software doesn't exist. I put mermaid charts, which are supposedly pretty widely adopted, into a Markdown file, and apparently the best ways to view the file with the mermaid rendering is to use a VSCode extension or just push it to Github. No easy terminal command, really?

I’m back. Will be pushing on agentic bitcoin payments and building things agents will actually pay for. First step was getting @moneydevkit working on @Cloudflare. Required building a custom @lightningdevkit node that compiles to wasm to run on cloudflare’s js runtime and take advantage of their tcp, storage, and durable object apis. True. I think many skills are kind of BS, but I think the most useful skills are just things that tell agents things like "this is how you use this one API I like" which is much more token efficient than having it figure out how to use the API again every single time. These learnings can go into the model itself, but I think it's somewhat brittle, because if the API spec changes slightly, the model's info is out of date. Of course, we may get to the point where token cost is so cheap that there's really nothing expensive about the model needing to lookup the most current docs online.

I give it about 3-6 months before any kind of skills.md file is also pointless. The same thing happened to vector databases and langchain and every other 'product' built in the narrowing gap of model competencies.

Maybe throw in some Nicholas Carr, The Shallows: What the Internet Is Doing to Our Brains. Sprinkle in a little Tristan Harris, maybe reference the Center for Humane Technology, cite the "attention economy" — a term you learned from a 12-minute YouTube video ironically recommended by an algorithm. Next semester you'll probably regurgitate some Jenny Odell, How to Do Nothing: Resisting the Attention Economy, and you'll say "limbic hijacking" at a dinner party like you came up with it. But here's the thing — I made a joke. About tabs. You turned it into a TED Talk nobody asked for. My boy's wicked funny. And you just mass-replied to a shitpost with a thesis statement. How do you like them apples?
