@MsRFlorida @_cingraham 6. Laughed and said yeah…she doesn’t want to go either.
I think about that sometimes. Like…should we?
I’ve written about how this all started on here before a few times. I can give more details from the beginning that really dumbfounded us at first if anyone is interested.

@benclarkson @LadyDoctorSays And never looked.
Wonder if he even tried to test
English

@LadyDoctorSays Not true, my father actually invented a technology to scan composite materials for fatigue, so this guy is dead cause he doesn’t know my dad.
English

@AOL420 @LadyDoctorSays Honestly that is probably way better than what they did (or didn't do)
English

@LadyDoctorSays im just imagining them testing it inside an industrial size instant pot
English

@jotaman37 @LadyDoctorSays I think the certification issue is where the biggest misleading/lies happened.
Although 3/5 people on that sub SURELY knew what certification meant...I wonder if it was actually made clear to them Titan didn't have it. And yeah, of course they should've confirmed. But 🤷🏼♀️
English

@stargazer_412 @LadyDoctorSays So don't go down in it.
You've got a material that weakens every dive and no way to know how its doing/how close it is to failure?
Good gracious it's beyond time to just say no
English

@LadyDoctorSays Wait so they really and truly never tested this thing?
Is this what he called an "engineering" approach?!
English

@LadyDoctorSays And yet rush said that comms wouldn't go that far this he had to use texts.
Lies. Lots of lies
English

@barubin @LadyDoctorSays Ugh the sad part is think they watched this ON THE WAY OUT TO THE TITAN DIVE SPOT
English

@LadyDoctorSays Watch the film for free on the deepsea challenger on YouTube. I watched it last night and it’s pretty good.

@JamesETipping @Kaiyalai @LadyDoctorSays Because the fired engineer recommended US testing after every dive, I'm likely to suspect the answer was zero
English

@Kaiyalai @LadyDoctorSays Makes you wonder how much stress testing was going on after each dive to check for impending component failure. The laissez faire attitude tells me that it’s unlikely.
English

@Kaiyalai @LadyDoctorSays Read about accumulated stress in carbon fiber.
Every dive it got weaker from the pressure.
Failure was inevitable & there was no plan for it (except just to die). He called other subs over engineered and too focused on safety
The 1 other carbon fiber sub built was single use
English

@LadyDoctorSays It seems *slightly* noteworthy that, apparently, the Titan had made six and seven dives to the Titanic in 2021 and 2022, as well as 50-odd test dives.
This does NOT dismiss very real concerns and criticisms about its safety, mind! But, it didn't just fall apart 1st deep dive.
English

@LadyDoctorSays This is the part that baffles me. Like, how expensive would that have been? Even if you're cheapo as hell!
English

@LadyDoctorSays Enjoying this thread but I believe the titan did have a dissolving wire that would drop the weights and automatically return to the surface after a fixed amount of time. Not defending them, just something I read
English

@ruvalum @MSUPatriot @designmom Yeah but good BC is effective north of 98%. Let's say in a calendar year of 100 men doing it and NOT TTC, that's 10K unplanned pregnancies vs 200. So if the goal is fewer abortions/unwanted babies... I'd say wrapping it up seems pretty sensible.
English

@designmom Just by saying men it implies all men, as you negate to say some men. There's a lot of truth to what you say, but you also imply it's men's fault that their (our) orgasm is responsible for pregnancy, but nature made it thus. There's nothing any man can do to change that.
English

@DrewKinslow @designmom Yes but men could prevent 100% of unwanted pregnancies if they chose to.
Imagine if men were constantly doing everything they possibly could to prevent pregnancy.
How relaxed and cared for would their partners feel?
Like, no more painful IUD/BC side effects baby, I got this.
English

@designmom If it takes two to get pregnant then it takes two EQUALLY. Men having sperm doesn’t = instant pregnancy every time a sperm hits the vagina. IF it did the WHY do people spend tens of thousands of dollars trying to get pregnant?!?
So no. You’re argument is invalid
English

@deady_brock @designmom "Yeah but men know they ejaculate and so in knowing that if they choose to have sex they should be pro active and have safe guards in place or their partner will have to a) get an abortion or b) go through the pregnancy and resent the child and the man."
Fixed it for you!!!
English

@designmom Yeah but women know men ejaculate and so in knowing that if they choose to have sex they should be pro active and have safe guards in place or you'll have to a) get an abortion or b) go through the pregnancy and resent the child and the man. But yeah...Great thread
English

@snaps_oh_ @designmom @TimBronstein @MMcrzyldy Yes. But
Why do men often *insist* on having unprotected sex with their partners?
Where's the responsibility there?
English

@jeffsmith008 @designmom @stokieginge77 A person with eggs and a uterus could spread 'em and bang a penis all day long and still not get pregnant... If the fella ejaculates responsibly.
English

@designmom @stokieginge77 nice try you certainly implied all men and refuse to place any accountability on the person with their legs spread wide and the open sign lit
English

@Skinsurrection @davidfolkenflik In other news, water is wet
