@JackElsom @BBCr4today Zack felt and believed it was happening, that's how he forms facts. Reality does not get to trample that.

Zack Polanski wrongly claimed on @BBCr4today that the Golders Green suspect was "handcuffed" when he was kicked by officers. That's simply not right... his hands were free and he was holding a knife! Polanski to Nick Robinson: "I was traumatised by seeing someone handcuffed and repeatedly kicked in the head”.

Ah. That old classic. “Ewww, that’s creepy… why are you obsessed with other people’s genitalia?” Straight out of the TRA playbook & has been for years. Textbook deflection. Feeble. Utterly feeble…

@eliotranch ultimately some lefties can be herded around if they're told a particular decision represents which "class" they're in too. Insecure and looking for group validation. They don't like people that aren't scared of being outside their bubble. Peculiar.

This graph is one of the most successful pieces of populist propaganda I've seen on this app in recent times. It flatters left-leaning voters into thinking they are super smart because they vote left, while the thickies vote right. But one of the most basic rules in data analysis is that correlation does not equal causation. In other words, this graph means approximately fuck all. "Most educated", for a start, is not a meaningful category. Not any more. As Colin Wright put it: "Grade inflation and university ideological capture means that a bachelor’s degree is no longer an honest signal of competence. In some woke fields, a PhD is an honest signal of incompetence." (@SwipeWright often shares PhDs being given on the basis of the most farcical/inane 'research'. Take a look. It's fascinating. And depressing.) "Educational attainment" may also, for example, correlate with an inability to get on the housing ladder, employment or even just your home town having been completely reengineered by immigration in your lifetime. Anyway, all that aside we just don't vote based on our level of education. We vote based on identity, issue salience, leader evaluations, perceived party values, tactical considerations and local candidate incumbency/loyalty (although that's rare these days). Sometimes we even vote on policy. And yes - messaging and occasionally propaganda have a lot to do with all of that. But if you think only the right engages in propaganda - or that only 'uneducated people' fall for it - have I got a Polanski for you. The man who created this graph knew exactly what he was doing. It worked.

I’ve had some embarrassing exchanges on picket lines over the years, but having your own students addressing you as ‘Mr Phillips’ over a megaphone, in uniform, while you’re wearing, a clown costume has to hurt…

Parenting is HARD! That’s why grandparents find it easier! But both roles are so important. And parents, if you do it right and hold the line in the right way, you can look forward to the day your little one makes you into a grandparent! 🥰

They knew what was coming. That’s exactly why they tried to stop it. They didn’t want elections cancelled to “save money”. They wanted to save themselves.

Adam Price, a former leader of Plaid Cymru, has been re-elected to the Welsh Senedd. He and his husband have two children with US surrogate mothers. Your reminder that commercial surrogacy is banned in Britain.

This is not democracy at work it’s a complete erosion of national sovereignty and accountability. I genuinely thought it was a joke at first. A guy who only arrived in the country in 2021, on a temporary student/graduate visa, with no long-term commitment to Scotland , no roots here, and apparently fundraising for his next visa just to stay… has now been elected as an MSP for the Scottish Greens in Edinburgh & Lothians East. He can now help shape laws, spending, and policy that affect Scottish taxpayers, communities, housing, services, and culture for years while his own right to be here could be temporary. This isn’t “diversity” or “inclusion.” This is fucking lunacy.

🟢 @q_ueering elected to represent Edinburgh & Lothians East region! Q is one of four Scottish Green MSPs elected in Edinburgh & Lothians East today, taking our total across Scotland to seven - so far!

Teachers striking days before the GCSE and A Level exams.😱 Kids protesting opposite them, demanding to be taught! Poor kids. This is the state of our country. God help us. 😳

This is insane. Teachers wearing keffiyehs and draped in Palestine flags are out on strike. The pupils tell them to get back to work

I can’t believe what I’ve just watched. Socialist teachers who are striking, right in exam mock periods, are being counter protested by very grown up and sensible teenagers DEMANDING that they be taught back in school. These “teachers” should be ashamed of themselves. Draped in Gaza flags, and flying far-left “Stand Up to Racism” and Unite Union banners outside a school. Keep your politics out of our schools and DO YOUR JOB.

Many people have noticed that I’ve been posting a lot less on here over recent months. There are two reasons for that. The first is that today I’m proud to announce that I have been elected as a Conservative Councillor for my home town of High Barnet. I have spent the last 6 months campaigning and knocking on every door in the ward to try to take back control of Barnet Council from the flailing and failing Labour Party. Why Conservatives? I believe that the Conservative Party is the only party that can truly deliver on what the people of Britain need: lower migration, preservation of our national identity, getting the economy moving again, becoming tougher on crime and disorder, and representing us with pride on the international stage. More personally, I believe that the Conservatives are the only mainstream party that recognise and will protect the importance of biological sex. I have spent years collaborating with Kemi on protecting women and children and I truly trust her principles. As for the second reason, watch this space…!
