US physician attrition is rising, hitting women and rural doctors hardest. Systemic pressures and not just burnout drive exits, threatening healthcare access, especially in already underserved areas. Structural change is needed to sustain the workforce. kevinmd.com/2026/01/physic…

Research shows MRI scans can detect heart risk up to 10 years earlier, even in people with “normal” heart function. For women, cholesterol in the high-normal range was the key risk driver, underscoring the need for earlier, sex-specific intervention. dundee.ac.uk/stories/mri-sc…

This study indicates that photon-counting detector computed tomography (PCD-CT) provides high diagnostic accuracy for detecting in-stent restenosis in patients with prior coronary stents. This suggests that PCD-CT may be reliably used to evaluate suspected obstructive coronary artery disease in both stented and unstented coronary segments. eurointervention.pcronline.com/article/photon…

No trial better explains the importance of evidence than REVIVED BCIS. It boggles my mind that it was negative @divaka_perera is correct, but try telling 99% of American cardiologists We still cath new LV dys pts TO FIND LESIONS TO REVASC despite negative trials #ESC2025
Gregorio Tersalvi@GTersalvi

@divaka_perera makes a strong case: routine #PCI should not be performed in asymptomatic pts with LV dysfunction (even with viability). It does NOT improve prognosis ‼️ Evidence should guide practice: The earth is not flat 🌎 #ESCCongress @escardio @drjohnm

🫀 Takotsubo Syndrome: An Acute Myocardial Ischaemic Syndrome 1️⃣ What is Takotsubo? Takotsubo, often called “broken-heart syndrome,” mimics a heart attack with chest pain, ECG changes, and troponin elevation—but typically without blocked arteries.

Dangers of using a single number to assess patients: Both EFs were around 20-25%, one patient was asymptomatic, and the other was in cardiogenic shock. Guess which one?
