I explain his alleged reasonable articulable suspicion in another post. The answer is that we don't know. All of these things like probable cause have to later he defended in court. Things like Field Sobriety tests support this and help to make initial decisions, but they aren't necessary and there can be mitigating factors.

So the cop is telling him that he's been observing his behavior. He's blasting music and has reasonable articulable suspicion based upon his behavior that he's owi and wants to detain the guy for investigation. The guy is rude, combative, and potentially dangerous demonstrated by his attitude and non-compliance. The guy's attitude makes the cop feel enough at risk for safety (also for the public) that he chooses to complete the investigation in a more controlled environment away from the public. Be contrite, help them do their jobs, maintain your rights but this guy made it too easy. You have 2 choices: ask for a lawyer and give them nothing beyond what is required by law or comply and appeal to mercy while hiding whatever you can.
