Every time I sit to work on an ongoing script, I start at the beginning and read and revise to warm up for the new stuff.

I received great feedback and notes on my Christmas romcom today! Going to take the next few days to focus on working through them and my script. So grateful for the expert advice and time given to my script 🙏🏼 #screenwriters #screenwriting #WritingCommunity

I finished my second original spec of the year. A lower budget contemporary Supernatural Biblically Based Thriller. That’s a genre, right? So far big thumbs up from those who have read it, plus… some requests.

That feeling as you’re doing a major rewrite when you find a massive logic hole and a fix for it at the same time.

@BobSnz I just had this experience with a script I wrote years back. It’s been gathering dust and a producer is now interested in it and actively working on funding! No resting in peace ! ❤️

@storyandplot I now follow the same process after finding myself to often jn a muddle just “winging” my story.

It took me a while, but about 10 years ago, I finally settled on a consistent process that takes me from idea to final draft. 1. Pre-Outline. 2. Outline. 3. Treatment 4. The screenplay 5. Rewrites. This naturally creates slightly different versions of the same story as I adapt one phase to the next. There’s problem-solving and discoveries at each step, but I’m refining with purpose and without tangents. There is far less wasted energy and frustration here. As a result, I get to a very good, polished draft relatively quickly. You need to learn some version of this once you start writing professionally. You want the entire team on the same page, and their buy-in is essential throughout the process. But it was learning to commit to doing it for myself, rather than as a step that someone else required, that made the difference. While I am always looking for refinement, I'll never go back to my old way of screenwriting.

I love outlining a new script. I write in 5 Acts with 8 sequences and 32 story cards. I try to give each sequence its own unity and arc. This is how I do it. Every writer is different. You do you.

Today I’m in editor mode! Editing a one-pager and a feature script outline. I’ve set out the entire day in my diary to do this! But I need to take the x-mastree down - shouldn’t take long? Maybe I’ll just keep it up for inspiration? #writers #screenwriters #WritingCommmunity

@SandtonCity What happened to all the Christmas festivities Sandton used to display ? No music or festivities. So sad to see that there has been no effort for Christmas this year 😞 tiny little set up but basically nothing? Why?

Hi. To check if your pre-paid meter is on KRN1 or KRN2, punch in 1844 6744 0738 4377 2416 on your meter keypad. If your meter displays a “2” or “2.2”, you have been upgraded to KRN2, but if your meter displays a “1” or “1.2”, you still need to upgrade your meter to KRN 2. To recode your meter: Purchase electricity from an approved Eskom vendor, and you'll receive two extra 20-digit recode tokens to enter into your meter. If your meter is not accepting the KRN2 recode token, chat with our friendly chatbot, Alfred at alfred.eskom.co.za/chatroom or dial *120*37566# on your mobile for further assistance.

I struggled early on with the midpoint in my screenwriting. I knew it was important, but I was still pretty hit or miss. It wasn't until I understood the midpoint's role beyond just a plot point that I found any consistency. This is how I utilize the midpoint now. 👇
