Why This Feels Like a War Crime? In any other era, if you were out of ammo or cornered, there was a slim chance of surrender or a "fair" end. But you can't surrender to a kamikaze drone. It doesn't have a heart, it doesn't take prisoners, and it doesn't understand mercy.

@LesiaLVD I think Ukrainian soldiers dying on the front to a swarm of drones purchased this spring with the new russian oil windfall wouldn't be very excited about a potentially bad mid ter for russia.

@AdrianP_doc The medium term is always more important, Ukraine will be fine short-term, it won’t be fine if we let seriously bad regimes stay and grow. One thing I totally agree with though is that Russia in this domino effect should take a hit next, it will

That talking point is a bit outdated. Most NATO allies have been fulfilling their NATO spending obligations and increasing them for some years now. Europeans are rearming, building new defense manufacturing capacity. Rheinmetall alone is producing more artillery shells than the US now. Poland is set to add 1000 tanks among other high end gear by 2030. Thing is, the Trump admin got pissed that we don't really want to buy American anymore and are now actively blocking European efforts to rearm while easing sanctions on Russia. Europe is not the problem here. Something in the US is rotten now.

@AdrianP_doc Im sorry for the 227 men whos lives were lost or worsened following us into battle. That said US has been warning Europe it needed to quit letting defense spending and readiness slide for like 25-30 years. Americans now feel that they have to question commitment.

Romania answered America's call for help after 9/11 as did many other NATO members, big and small. Our soldiers were deployed there for 19 years. 27 Romanian soldiers were killed and 200 were wounded in Afghanistan. I met on of them in a hospital recently. He lost a leg to an IED and has to get treatment for the rest of his life. I have only one question for the American cousinfuckers who are now saying NATO allies are unreliable and ungrateful: How many Israeli soldiers fought and died for the US in Afghanistan?

Did America ask Israel to commit any ships to open up the straight of Hormuz? Did Israel promise any ships to open up the straight of Hormuz?

I have and I respectfully disagree. Ukrainian units are fighting hard now and they need urgent support. The country has barely survived a heavy winter. The short term is more important than the medium term. With a bungled war in Iran, a distracted Europe and a openly hostile US, Russia can regain the initiative this spring and summer. I am sorry, but it's won't warm me up that Russia's future is not looking great if they manage to occupy everything east of Dnipro by the end of the year. Not to mention that Europe has some touch elections coming up in the next couple of years where Ukraine supporting governments can be replaced by pro-Russian ones. Romania's current pro-Ukraine government is teetering on the brink and it's not unlikely that the openly pro-Russian party might be part of a future governing coalition. ... and by your credentials, I guess you know how vital Romania's support is. Ukraine can't wait for a friendly Iranian government - which looks very unlikely. So, to me, this war, might weaken Russia in the long term but it doesn't matter because it strengthens Russia and weakens Ukraine NOW.

But the thing isn’t to choose at all. You can read my tweets on the subject where I clearly state what’s taking place and why the iran war isn’t in Russia’s interest at all in the medium- long-term. Yes, indeed, it carries immediate side effects but it’s not against Ukraine’s interests at all. You can’t assess things through the immediate repercussions lens onyl, that’s not how geopolitics work

That's your right. For me, there is no choice between Ukraine and Israel because Ukraine will come first every single time. Unfortunately, reading from people who brandish both the Ukrainian and Israeli flags, makes me severely wonder where their loyalties lie even if they have Ukrainian names.

Europe has to understand that NATO isnt a one way street. If Europe does not support the USA now, dont expect the Americans to help the next time Denmark or Canada randomly decide to invade other countries!

I know enough to see that Russia is making more money to build drones and missiles to bomb Ukrainian civilians while also having more cash to finance potential mobilization. And Ukraine's much needed defense resources being diverted to a war started for no legitimate reason except fulfilling Netanyahu's 40 year old dream (his words) to start a war with Iran As for pandering, I am frequently called both a zionist and an antisemite so what I say is guided by my moral compass not by wishing to reach a certain audience.

@AdrianP_doc Look, you support Ukraine and I thank You for that, but perhaps you should deep-dive into what’s been happening in the Middle East, Iran’s ambitions and policies unless ofc you’re simply pandering to a certain group

Rodynske in the Donetsk region, close to Pokrovsk. Almost 10.000 people lived here in 2022, now it's a front line city that has been turned into a ruin but Ukraine is still holding it. Europe does not need to fight stupid wars in the Middle East. It needs to defend itself from Russian savages. Photo courtesy of the 15th Brigade - Kara Dag, elements of which are still deployed in the Pokrovsk sector.
