Spurs got 86 points in 2016-17 - very high for a non-champion
A Chelsea propelled by these payments beat them
That changed history could have transformed Spurs’ present - which is all too relevant now

After much reflection, I have decided to resign from my position as Director of the National Counterterrorism Center, effective today.
I cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran. Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby.
It has been an honor serving under @POTUS and @DNIGabbard and leading the professionals at NCTC.
May God bless America.

Lord Hogan-Howe to lead @ukhomeoffice review of policing. He’s widely viewed as mad in police circles, contributed to the Met’s decline & brooks no views that differ from his own. Poor, poor choice @ShabanaMahmood . Result won’t be good & this reflects on you.

Don’t know what I expected but 500 replies in a bit over an hour is mad. So many great books I’ve already read and loads I haven’t too.
On the same line of thought, which book (not football related) would you recommend? This is great for my future reading lists.
HLTCO@HLTCO
A question for my followers… If you could only recommend one football book for people to read, what would it be?

Read this thread. Every word.
And then read it again, because you will not believe it can be true.
But it is. Every word.
@DavidLammy and @sarahsackman want to remove the right to jury trial in cases involving *death*.
Homicide cases.

So Thames Water is currently £20 billion in debt and turning that mess into a company that is £26.5 billion in debt we are being told, and are expected to believe, is rescuing it.
It is nothing but brutalising customers even further and condemning them to even more decades of being fleeced by excessive interest payments.
It's a shambles, govt needs to act. Now!

@RichardStWolf @SophieP25397 That crisis was caused by the economic policies of the Tory chancellor Anthony Barber in 1972-73 - with his 'dash for growth'. Caused huge inflation and a sterling crisis, compounded by the Opec oil crisis following the Yom Kippur war of 73
English

@SophieP25397 Well she did turn the economy around after Labour bankrupted the country in 1976 causing us to ask for the biggest imf bailout in history

@charlhennessy1 @TheAnfieldWrap It was so exciting Charl. I loved that radio!

@DannyReard58632 @dougbagleyfdl One benefit Spurs fans had that day was the LL was one wide open terrace, so your fans could 'fan out' as the crush built up. Six months later, SWFC decided to partition that terrace into smaller pens, with radial fences running from the rear to the front. Deadly error
English

@dougbagleyfdl Exactly the same could have happened to us in 81
English

@fletchof205 @TheAnfieldWrap yeah, those commentators added something to the game
English

@AdrianTempany @TheAnfieldWrap Same mate. The wall to wall every game on TV kills the excitement and anticipation. Peter jones and Bryon Butler were superb. Gubba and Coleman on Sportsnight 😍😍😍

@jamiebennett_r @Chris78Williams Hughes has Qs to answer. Left the squad short on depth in key areas
English

@AdrianTempany @Chris78Williams I agree, and I agree with Chris too. If we end up in a position where Slot goes (more than likely IMO regardless of league finish) then I think Hughes should be quickly following him out the door
English

@fletchof205 @TheAnfieldWrap loved those midweek European games on the radio and the highlights on Sportsnight
English

@AdrianTempany @TheAnfieldWrap My dad was decorating my bedroom while we listened on the "wireless". I was 7 as well.
