Breaking News‼️ On Saturday, April 25, 2026, Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed officially inaugurated four major industrial projects at Hawassa Industrial Park in the Sidama Region. The ceremony highlighted the commissioning of Toyo Phase 2, Origin Solar, and Lumintech solar factories, alongside the HZ Gas plant. These initiatives represent a significant step in Ethiopia’s push toward renewable energy manufacturing and industrial self-reliance, leveraging the park’s strategic location, reliable hydropower, and investor-friendly policies to attract high-tech production.1 Collectively, the three solar facilities are projected to deliver an impressive 11.3 gigawatts of clean energy production capacity annually, positioning Ethiopia as an emerging player in the global solar supply chain with strong export potential. The HZ Gas plant will meanwhile produce 900 tons of oxygen, 40,000 tons of nitrogen, and 7 tons of hydrogen per year, supporting various industrial, medical, and energy applications. Beyond their output, the projects have already generated substantial employment opportunities, enhancing local livelihoods and underscoring Ethiopia’s vast untapped potential for green industrialization and economic transformation. Ethiopia keeps on rising under the leadership of Abiy Ahmed.

News: #Tigray Youth Affairs Bureau urges urgent action as over 200 #Ethiopian youths reportedly face execution in #Saudi_Arabia The Tigray Youth Affairs Bureau has called for urgent diplomatic intervention after reporting that more than 200 Ethiopian youths detained in Saudi Arabia are facing execution following what it described as a mass death sentence handed down without legal representation. In a letter addressed to #Ethiopia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Bureau urged immediate engagement with Saudi authorities and international human rights actors to halt the reported executions and secure protection for the detainees. Speaking to Addis Standard, #Haish_Subagadis, head of the Tigray Youth Affairs Bureau, said the youths are being held at Khamis Mushait prison in the Abha area of Saudi Arabia’s Asir region after being accused of narcotics-related offenses. addisstandard.com/?p=56634

📜 The Armenian Genocide (1915–1916) During World War I, the Ottoman Empire under the Young Turk government systematically targeted its Armenian population. Armenian men were often separated from their families and executed — shot, bayoneted, or killed in labor battalions. Women, children, and the elderly were then forced on brutal death marches across hundreds of miles toward the Syrian Desert (areas like Deir ez-Zor). They were deliberately deprived of food and water, subjected to robbery, rape, and massacres along the way by Ottoman forces, paramilitaries, and local groups. Those who survived the marches faced starvation and disease in desert concentration camps. Historians estimate 600,000 to 1.5 million Armenians perished through direct killings, death marches, and related atrocities. This is one of the first major genocides of the 20th century and helped inspire the term “genocide” itself. #WorldHistory

Jatts (pretending to be Sikhs)Gurdwara in Duisburg, Germany. Jatts fighting inside, turbans in the air, kirpans (meant to protect the weak) turned on each other. This all started over control of money (golok) The previous management, who lost the election, came forcefully to take over the administration. This shames the community and harms its image.

#Op_ed: Beyond the “Hostage” Narrative: Conditioned immorality, politics of displacement in #Ethiopia addisstandard.com/?p=56562 In this op-ed, Yaekob Yatene challenges the claim that internally displaced persons (#IDPs) in Ethiopia—particularly from Western #Tigray—are “hostages” used for political leverage. He argues the framing oversimplifies a crisis shaped by insecurity, weak governance, and unresolved territorial disputes that hinder safe return. The author describes this as “conditioned immorality,” where societies grow desensitized to suffering, reinforced by a “politics of selective visibility” that politicizes Tigray’s displacement while leaving IDPs in #Oromia and #Amhara regions largely overlooked. Yaekob underscores that instrumentalizing displacement weakens accountability, noting: “When displaced people are dying of hunger, the question is not who is holding them—it is who is failing them.”

Lavish Lifestyle for the Children of @IsmailOguelleh, While Ordinary Djiboutians Are Denied Even the Most Basic Human Rights These two videos below lay bare a shocking and unacceptable contrast in Djibouti today. This it the ideology and policy that Africa is suffering of, and the chairman has brought to the @_AfricanUnion and turned the organization to a mad house. The first video shows the daily life of the children of Ismail Omar Guelleh the dictator who has ruled the country with an iron fist for more than 26 years. It reveals a world of unchecked luxury and privilege. The second video depicts the harsh reality faced by an ordinary Djiboutian citizen: families living without sanitation, without clean water, and even without proper burial sites for their deceased loved ones. This is exactly what @dya_bamakhrama and the head of the African Union @ymahmoudali now represent a dictatorial old man who has clung to power for over a quarter of a century, and has just selected himself for yet another term.Djiboutians deserve better. Basic human dignity should never be a privilege reserved only for the ruling family. You ask, what is wrong with Africa? well look no further in Djibouti.
Gaboose@Guntigaab

President of #Kenya, William Ruto: “I can tell you without an iota of doubt that the African Union as it is today is.. not fit for purpose. …it’s not fit to provide the leadership that this continent needs to move into the future.” The AU Chairperson, a former foreign minister of tiny dictatorship state of #Djibouti, is dragging the organization in the wrong direction. African leaders are increasingly uneasy with its current approach. He has turned the organization into a situation resembling his own country a slum sewer. Instead of acknowledging the real achievements of African models of democracy and good governance, such as Somaliland’s long-standing stability and functioning institutions, the AU is leaning toward outdated, heavy-handed positions that ignore realities on the ground and instead supporting the stance and the claim of the failed, corrupt, and fragile state models like #Somalia. It condemns Somaliland’s basic right to build its own relations with other countries, which is a mistake and a form of oppression against positive developments on the continent. Ironically, this same oppression reflects the current policy and situation in Djibouti the country of the AU Chairperson. Notably, the #Israeli ambassador to #Somaliland, whose appointment the #AU has recently condemned, previously headed the Israeli embassy in Kenya.
