@dorulets @alemannoEU Batteries are similar or slightly more expensive when compared to fossil fuels per kWh stored, excluding generation costs. Hydro and nuclear are solid alternatives truly insulated from fossil fuel price shocks; wind and solar are not due to needing backup.

First of all, batteries are no longer expensive. But, you are right, there are periods of the year (in Romania 4 months) in which the photovoltaic + wind contribution is not sufficient. For this, however, we have hydro (which still needs a substantial increase), nuclear and methane gas. These periods and peaks can be compensated from the three sources.

🇪🇸 A young Spanish woman will be euthanized today, after a group of illegal migrants gang-raped her while she was in state care. In 2022, the teenager Noelia Castillo Ramos placed in a state institution amid family difficulties and placed in a state-run home together with North African migrant minors where she was raped by them. The trauma broke her. Months later, Noelia attempted suicide by jumping from the 5th floor. She survived, but the fall left her paraplegic. The rapists were never arrested and remain free. Instead of delivering justice or adequate long-term support, the authorities offered assisted suicide as the solution. Today, March 26, 2026, Noelia Castillo Ramos will be euthanized. The system that failed to protect her is now "solving the problem" by ending her life

Let's correct some misperceptions. This vote WAS NOT about the so-called “chat-controls”. It was about a straightforward extension of the current rules without changing their scope. It preserved the existing derogation and all safeguards, including the protection of end-to-end encryption and the prohibition of general monitoring. This is exactly what the Parliament has done in the past.
