My collaborators and I recently published two new papers where we develop and apply a new "inverse" approach to identifying pollutants in river networks. I've written a plain language explainer here: alexlipp.github.io/posts/2024/05/… 1/

@RiverActionUK @AlexGLipp Will there be data for Wales? Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water are one of the worst sewage polluters. They are also a partner of the new Nature Service Wales.

@joe_crowley @jamie_wallis eg, Northumbria looks surprisingly “spill free”… not saying it’s wrong but it’d be good to know exactly why. Perhaps they just maintain their network better!

Wow, so sewagemap.co.uk is now live for all English water companies. And I think it's fair to say England is looking rather sh*tty today... An important platform... well done @AlexGLipp for making this happen.

'We need to rebuild public trust in our river – and sewer – networks.' A new UK law is forcing water companies to make pollution data readily accessible to the general public - but it doesn’t go far enough, writes @AlexGLipp ⬇️ theconversation.com/water-companie…
