@AlexLowy @archiert1 @urghbusani But the context is the key part here. The ref can see what Martinelli is trying to do which is why he got a yellow. Mitrovic was in the ref’s face for ages and had to be held back by his teammates. The 2 scenarios are completely different 🤦‍♂️

A reminder that Aleksandar Mitrovic received an 8-game ban for pushing the referee. I’m sure the FA will be consistent. 😇

He got a retrospective ban because of his aggression AFTER the red, which I agreed with (although 8 games a bit much), but I think the actual contact with the ref was quite similar. Martinelli lucky to get a yellow IMO. Not everyone hates Arsenal!

@AlexLowy @archiert1 @urghbusani The gap between the 2 punishments was because of the intent. U can clearly see what Martinelli is trying to do. Compared to what Mitrovic did. On the flip side of what you’re saying. If it wasn’t an Arsenal player no one would bat an eye. 🤷‍♂️

@joachimyol He’s been pretty trash but still capable of something - and playing GAL at home trailing 1-0 is a prime fixture. In hindsight I slightly underestimated GAL in the home leg, and Szoboszlai was probably a better pick, but it’s not worth a transfer to change.

@UnitedPinterest @GoalsXtra The ball was moving when the free kick was taken. Ref blew the whistle before Muniz put the ball home. A bit strange that it’s in the rules for the offending team to get the benefit in this situation, but I believe the ref followed the rules, so fair enough from him.
