YIKES! Footage from 2023 appears to show Taylor Frankie Paul repeatedly attacking Dakota Mortensen. In the clip, Taylor grabs a metal barstool and throws it at Dakota. He yells, “your daughter is right here,” but she continues, throwing two more stools. Moments later, a child can be heard crying from the couch. According to the police report, a 5 year old girl was struck and later had a “goose egg” on her head. Source: TMZ #SLOMW

The word "psychedelic" was invented during a poetry battle.
Aldous Huxley proposed "phanerothyme" with the line:
"To make this mundane world sublime, take half a gram of phanerothyme."
Psychiatrist Humphry Osmond countered:
"To fathom Hell or soar angelic, just take a pinch of psychedelic."
Osmond won. He debuted the word at the New York Academy of Sciences in 1957.
We almost ended up calling them "phanerothymes."

Not what my op-ed today was about but an interesting sub-finding of the paper is that Newsom is seen as very left-wing, Vance seen as more extreme than Trump.
