@Rob_Briner Oh wow. I work with adults who are already in jobs and still have to put a lot of effort into getting them to apply new leadership and management concepts once they’re outside the “corporate classroom”. I hadn’t considered how hard it might be for you and your students.

There's always been a debate about whether management is an academic or applied subject and the extent to which management degrees should aim to teach practical skills. Based on this tiny sample it seems that what we academic 'experts' have to offer is just not seen as useful.

I recently asked a small group of third year management undergraduates to think about every module/course they’d taken thus far, what they’d learned, and which parts of it they thought might be useful for them in their future job and careers...

@AndyFollows Ha! Very close plate. Weird coincidence with this car, turned out I was buying from the brother of the guy I bought my last car from!

My favourite car of the meet today - because it's mine! Bought this a couple of days before Christmas after months of searching for the right car. Have only done 200 miles so far, looking forward to many more in 2023!

@SamNaylor_ Lovely car. That sent me looking back through old photos to check it didn’t used to be mine! I had RK54 SUF. Same spec. The sound is unique and amazing. I hope it gives you lots of pleasure. Sure it will!

Went and saw a few rusty examples (not described as such😑) but then this came up on an auction. Usually hate bidding online but it was in the right spec and had just been resprayed, so the bodywork is perfect. Put in a low bid and was pretty surprised to win it.

This made me wheeze!

Highly recommend this book. It explains so well what’s at the root of the binary arguments played out every day here and elsewhere. Diagram is amazing too!

@sarahnollwilson That’s a pretty concise list and there are lots of valid additional elements in the comments. They also need to make sure the team delivers results or the rest is daycare.

What do you believe the best people leaders should do? I've been reflecting, and a few that came up for me are: -Building capacity in others -Creating psychologically safe environments where everyone can thrive -Help people navigate change What would you add?
