Sometimes people will never understand what you’ve been through during an election. This one is for the haters, the ones who told people I wasn’t a real Muslim, called me a Zionist for believing in the two state solution, called me Taliban because my father is a Southern Pashto speaking Afghan, sent me death threats to silence me for speaking on foreign policy. All that to try and make sure I wasn’t re-elected in Roxeth. This one is for you! I weathered all these attacks and won my third term. I even topped the ballot with the most votes. Hope you’re feeling well today 🙂 For decent sensible people, I hope this gives you hope that you can win in the face of hate. You can be proud of where you come from, what languages you speak, and stand for the politics of unity over division and still win! Believe in yourself and what you stand for and people will believe in you and not the attacks others throw at you.
