Today always make me think of those brave souls who went into one of the deadliest battles ever fought by any man. The Battle of the Somme started today 1st July 1916 and lasted until 18 November. 57,470 casualties and 19,240 men were killed. My great, great grandfather Patrick Stanton survived. With a Military Medal of distinction for his bravery. We must never forget what those heroes sacrificed for us all to be free. Don’t ever be embarrassed to be British. If you could show 1% of their bravery, this country wouldn’t continue to be in the state it currently is. Time to stand up and remember those heroes who gave their today so you could have your tomorrow. Gone but never forgotten. 🇬🇧 RIP #BattleOfSomme

This morning we got more proof that America’s economy is the strongest in the world. 353,000 new jobs were created in the month of January. That matters. Wealth, wages, and employment are higher now than before the pandemic, and I won’t stop fighting to keep our progress going.
