@NYSLabor No matter how many times I call , I cannot seem to be able to talk to a representative that can complete my claim . @NYGovCuomo this is unacceptable. You can’t force people to stop working and not have a contingency plan as a back up .

@NYSLabor it gets even more ridiculous. via a twitter conversation with @NYSLabor earlier today, i just now received a phone call. i thought the call was to take my application, but the call was only to let me know they'd be open tomorrow. #useless. tomorrow = another day of hangups.

@NYSLabor it is impossible to call as required. your system simply hangs up, after entering SS# and PIN. now 75+ times for me. do something to fix this, that would actually be helpful.

@NYSLabor I know you’re doing your best, but I’ve called in 30 times today and been hung up on every time. Don’t even make it to HOLD. Just “please wait”... CLICK. Maybe a new phone system?

@NYGovCuomo - do you have anything to say to the thousands of NYers that are being failed, in epic fashion, by @NYSlabor?? it is impossible to complete a UI application, because the phone system is antiquated/broken, impossible to speak to someone and complete the process.

@nyslabor this morning, after claims of improvements, this is the reality. 1) phone rings into dead air. 2) phone rings, is never answered. 3) system answers, says "we are experiencing technical difficulty and cannot assist you, call back later." you should be ashamed.

@NYSLabor it is impossible to complete your final step, as your phone system hangs up, every single time i go through the routine. i have called over 50x over two days, and have never gotten through. you have made no meaningful improvement in terms of actually completing your process.

@CarolynBMaloney @NYSLabor No Carolyn, they haven't. The final step requires a phone call with a live person. But the system hangs up on you, every single time. 20x today, same as yesterday. This is a fail and catch-22 of epic proportions; do something to actually help us.

@NYSLabor Perhaps we could download a form, complete it and submit it through a secured email address or fax line. You can hire people to help process these claims and give NYers peace of mind that they WILL receive their benefits. 3/3

If you are filing a new Unemployment Insurance claim via phone or web, the day you should file is based on the first letter of your last name: A-F: Monday G-N: Tuesday O-Z: Wednesday If you missed your filing day, please claim on Thursday or Friday. Please share far and wide.

@NYSDOLCommish I was connected with a representative who helped file my claim, she told me to stay on the phone to go through the payment process...then YOUR SYSTEM HUNG UP ON ME! Now I'm back to square one calling non-stop! What am I supposed to do now???

Providing Unemployment Insurance benefits is DOL’s number one priority, and everyone who is entitled to UI benefits will receive them in a timely manner. Due to enormous volume, our systems are slow but we are serving each and every New Yorker. Please be patient.
