She was right on the reporting, but now we know why, and Eagles fans (and the org) have a right to be mad this happened. If Dianna was engaged in an affair with Vrabel, he was feeding her news about AJ, and she ran with it? That is the textbook definition of tampering

Interesting that the league chose not to investigate Vrabel for tampering, at the very least. The alleged infidelity is not a league matter, but Dianna Russini had basically been reporting A.J Brown to the Patriots was inevitable. You don’t need to be Olivia Benson to figure this out, but this is why I noted that it’s unfair that Vrabel has faced practically no questions about his conduct as a football coach.

The irony in this public thrashing of @DMRussini an her journalistic integrity is the gross LACK of journalistic integrity shown in conclusion jumping off a few pictures without any further context. I wish her and her family the best and look forward to her next stop. She’s an outstanding reporter.

So when it comes to sports media, my coverage is in sports gambling so my coverage often doesn’t go here. I’m not a reporter so this isn’t my job. The thing is: I’m from Southwest Philadelphia & unlike most of the people in sports media which consist of primarily white males, I actually resemble and come from the same places that the players come from so naturally I have mutual friends of athletes and coaches. I hear things all the time and don’t say it.
For example, I knew about Malik Beasley’s gambling issues a year and half before it became a story.

Ginsberg confirmed that The Athletic's review of her work -- conducted by standards editor Mike Semel -- will continue. He also acknowledged the shifting messages: "When this situation was brought to our attention last week, there were clear concerns, but we received a detailed explanation and it was our instinct to support and defend a colleague while we continued to review the matter. Here's the issue Russini faces: the public perception of her is that she is the reporter who slept with Mike Vrabel for scoops.
That's not going away. And no credible outlet will bring her on, knowing that.

I take this as a doubling down on the innocence of the interaction w/ Vrabel.

They're both adults who had an affair.

I will say this, if Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini were conspiring to tank A.J. Brown’s trade value, that’s a BIG issue. That’s the only way Mike is exposed in the situation. Dianna is already exposed because she’s a journalist.
