I travelled through Great Nicobar today. These are the most extraordinary forests I have ever seen in my life. Trees older than memory. Forests that took generations to grow. The people on this island are equally beautiful - both the adivasi communities and the settlers - but they are being robbed of what is rightfully theirs. The government calls what it is doing here a “Project.” What I have seen is not a project. It is millions of trees marked for the axe. It is 160 square kilometres of rainforest condemned to die. It is communities that have been ignored while their homes have been snatched away. This is not development. This is destruction dressed in development’s language. So I will say it plainly, and I will keep saying it: what is being done in Great Nicobar is one of the biggest scams and gravest crimes against this country’s natural and tribal heritage in our lifetime. It must be stopped. And it can be stopped - if Indians choose to see what I have seen.
I am not aware of it. My stand on Gautam Khattar is based on following: 1. To arrest someone just because he said something about Francis Xavier - whose own letters show how much he hated Hinduism - is unacceptable. 2. To arrest someone's 18 y old brother, bypassing protocols, just because the "accused" is not available is mahapaap. 3. Whatever be Gautam Khattar's past - it cannot be used to justify why Francis Xavier suddenly becomes more important. Both @DrPramodPSawant and @pushkardhami have done blatant wrong in this matter. 4. BJP is famed for embracing erstwhile critics. Raghav Chadha - who called BJP a gunda party - is now in BJP. So is person who said Rum me Ram. So bringing out what Khattar tweeted when he was 20 year old is irrelevant. Tomorrow Khattar may also join BJP. So what? How does that change who Francis Xavier was as per his own letters? 5. Point is one and simple - beyond any Khattar - why should Hindus face any censorship talking about Francis Xavier or Aurangzeb or anyone who was into conversion of Hindus? 6. I do not personally know Gautam Khattar. But I am aware of letters of Francis Xavier. From those letters, I find no reason why his criticism by just anyone should be a problem.
गुजरात में भाजपा को आम आदमी पार्टी का इतना खौफ है कि अब आम आदमी पार्टी गुजरात के फेसबुक और इंस्टाग्राम पेज को भी बंद करवा दिया गया है। पिछले एक महीने में AAP गुजरात के FACEBOOK ओर INSTAGRAM को 8 करोड़ से ज्यादा लोगों ने देखा है। यह सोशल मीडिया प्लेटफॉर्म गुजरात की जनता की आवाज बन रहे थे, ओर यह आवाज को कुचलने का प्रयास सरकार की ओर से किया गया है। अगर भाजपा ने जनता के काम किए होते तो यह सब करने की नौबत नहीं आती। गुजरात की जनता समझदार है, भाजपा को इस तानाशाही का जवान देगी।
