There is nothing as powerful, majestic and terrifying as the Red Dragon in RPG's. 🎲

@GaryD20Games I enjoy this as well, but it's even more joyful, as a player, to come up to the boss and roll a banger crit with full damage and one shot the big bad on the first round. The look on the DMs face is priceless.

She’s only right at the very start, men aren’t typically nurturers in the same way women are. But that doesn’t mean men don’t care about children. Men are, by nature, protectors. A real man will step in, stand between danger and a child, and sacrifice himself if he has to, even if that child isn’t his. That’s been consistent across history. Soldiers protecting civilians, Firefighters running into danger to save kids, Strangers stepping in during emergencies, Mentors, coaches, and father figures guiding the next generation. That’s masculinity. It’s not about baby fever or outward nurturing, it’s about responsibility, protection, and sacrifice. What she’s describing as creepy isn’t masculinity or being a man, it’s a misunderstanding of it. Caring about children doesn’t automatically equal nurturing behavior, and it definitely doesn’t make someone a predator. If anything, the absence of that protective instinct is what’s concerning, not the presence of it. Masculinity isn’t softness, it’s standing guard, taking responsibility, and being willing to carry weight for others, especially those who can’t protect themselves.

Pop Culture Crisis star Mary Morgan says the idea of Pragmata naturally gives people the creeps: "Childless men do not have paternal instincts the way that childless women have maternal instincts (we observe this even in the way little girls play vs. little boys). Men first experience paternal instincts once they have their own children - and typically, those paternal instincts are only ever felt for their own children, and no one else’s. "Men are not nurturers. men don’t gush over cute kids in public. men don’t have baby fever. if a man wants to possess a child for any reason other than it being a product of his own lineage, he is likely a predator. and you’d be taking the feminist/radical gender abolitionist position to protest any of the above points. this should explain why a 'dad simulator' game marketed to mostly childless men gives people the creeps." Is she right about this?

I haven’t been on for a few days, I’ve got work and multiple projects to manage. Also I get tons of comments per day, so comments tend to get lost as well. With that here we go! Let me know if I missed one. Calling anti AI arguments “weak” is based on what I’m seeing repeated, concerns about job loss and effort, but not much engagement with how AI is actually used in practice. That’s an observation about the arguments, not a claim about people. I’m not misrepresenting your position. You compared AI to a replicator, but that analogy doesn’t fit. Like I said a replicator delivers a finished product with no user influence over how it’s made. AI requires structured input, iteration, selection, and often editing. The user is shaping the outcome, not just selecting it. On assumptions, we both made them. That’s normal in debate, but it cuts both ways. Also, an opinion can be part of an argument, but it needs support. Simply stating a conclusion doesn’t establish it. From my experience and the artists I know, the loudest complaints about AI tend to come from those already struggling to compete or find consistent work. That’s not saying all critics are like that, just what I’ve personally observed. AI can produce what many clients are looking for, and that shift is part of why this conversation is happening. I didn’t argue “it hasn’t been proven false, so I’m right,” and I’m not claiming “new equals better.” AI is just another tool. Traditional art and AI can coexist. Also, saying “AI isn’t art” without explaining why is just an unsupported assertion. If that claim is going to stand, it needs reasoning behind it, not just repetition. Your more guilty of Ipse Dixit.

If you use AI to “create” then you can’t call yourself a creator when the AI is doing everything for you

@Breshvic @TheMG3D You’re calling it no input while ignoring prompting, refining, and decision making. That’s like saying a director does nothing because they didn’t hold the camera. Selection and direction are creativity.

I'll just repost it since its not working. This is why its a false analogy. Not at all and it still falls apart. A replicator delivers a finished product with no creative input beyond selection. AI doesn’t. It requires structured prompting, iterative refinement, aesthetic judgment, and often editing or combining outputs. You’re shaping the result, not retrieving it. That’s closer to directing or producing than passively consuming. Your comparison is 100% flawed, which again proves you don't have a clue how AI works.

@MC_chibill @sandandsaltart @IsThisRealArt_ Opinions aren't facts. Calling something a fallacy isn’t about fear, it’s about broken reasoning. A claim doesn’t become a fact just because you say it is. If your logic doesn’t hold up, pointing that out isn’t avoiding, it’s correcting.

You can say that about any profession, no one is born knowing anything. You don't have to be at the top of the game to be something. How come it's impossible now for people to learn how to draw and write that you think using AI its the ONLY way.
Ashveil Studio@AshveilStudio

Not everyone can be an artist, musician, or skilled writer. People have limits, and some hit a ceiling they’ll never break through, that’s the uncomfortable truth. A few push past it, then look down on others using tools to improve, dismissing their work as slop while acting like they’re the only ones allowed to create.

People can't afford to have children. For those who say increase the pay, that has nothing to do with it. Lower the cost. It doesn't matter if I make $10 an hour and a burger cost $5, or I make $100 and a burger cost $50. Once it is affordable to live in the world people will have children again.

Here's a cup of morning irony: Fresh reddit calls out annoying TTRPG/DnD habits. What did they identify? Overperformative characters, self-inserts, & scripted DMs. Same thread then praised Critical Role & Dimension 20. They have no self-awareness. They. Don't. Really. Play.

Someone with a single braincell and just a little bit of critical thinking can see how the entire Anti-Ai crowd has nothing solid or concrete with their arguments. It's all about feelings and they have to use fallacies in order to "Try" to make a point when they can't. If this is about Artist, real artist aren't concerned about AI. Wannabe's are the ones kicking and screaming and I have artist friends who love and support what I do.
