@conselice Offering some financial compensation to those that agree to referee or AAS Journals or giving free publication to referees could be a good incentive? This could greatly help junior people who don't always have the free time to referee papers in addition to those they write.

Hey JWST friends - putting my editor 🎩 on - we are getting lots of great papers in the AAS Journals - but finding it hard to get referees. I know we’re all busy with the science but if we don’t have referees these papers (including yours!) will take much longer to get accepted.

@neiltyson @elonmusk He is also among those who is ruining optical, infrared and mm astronomy, changing our skies for the worst for the entirety of our planet’s population and as a member of the astronomical community I would think you would be against that? No? Doing good does not erase the bad.

While casting shade on @elonmusk for what he’s done, is doing, or will do, try to pause & remember that he made electric cars a normal thing in society and he commercialized space — for cargo, satellites, & people. Count him among those who are inventing civilization’s future.

Really exciting first result from our Q3D team using JWST and the NIRSpec instrument. The unprecedented sensitivity of JWST allowed us to discover several galaxies in a merger process around an extremely red quasar. hub.jhu.edu/2022/10/20/web…
