@butforwales Haven’t you noticed that those aren’t man’s desires? As the west has become less Christian people are less concerned with meaning, they desire revenge not justice, they find nothingness after death comforting, they do evil things they don’t punish it etc.

Observe how Christianity goes against man's desires for meaning, justice, death to not be the end, to see evil punished, reunion with loved ones, etc. It's so against man's desires it's a wonder anyone gets on board with it.

Atheists don't understand what a straw man is, so I'll explain. When I say "these are the implications of atheism" that's not a strawman. A strawman is when you misrepresent someone's argument by watering it down so that you can defeat it. I'm not discussing an atheist argument, I'm talking about what it would actually mean if there's no God. Just because atheists don't agree with me, that doesn't mean I'm strawmanning them. It would be a straw man if I said "all atheists argue X" and X was a watered down easy to defeat position. Think about it like this... Atheists love to try and make the argument that if God is all knowing then there's no free will. Is that a straw man? No. Atheists aren't saying that Christians don't believe in free will, they're talking about the actual* implications of an omniscient God. Saying what a belief entails is not the same thing as distorting the view of person who holds that belief. In the same way, when I argue "if atheism is true then there is no free will, no morality, etc," that is not me claiming that atheists hold this view (even though some certainly do). I'm simply talking about what it would actually mean if there was no God, and what truths would fall out of that. That's not a straw man.
