@elonmusk There's NOTHING universal about it. Only people with a certain privilege get guaranteed income from the public. The rest of us have to support ourselves AND THEM.

it hasn't sunk in for most people. we already live in a post-scarcity society. UBI is already here. basic package: disability, medicaid, food stamps etc bonus package: literally getting paid for staying at home and hanging out with your relatives extra bonus: if you are willing to commit fraud, pretend your kids are autistic and get paid for that. get paid for watching your neighbor's kid. pretend you are taking care of your grandma. fake hospice clinic. fake rehab clinic. fake therapy clinic. giga bonus: during a time of crisis take advantage of PPP or CARES and open a fake business and get paid for existing people are shocked when they learn that defense is the FIFTH largest line item in the budget. ahead of defense: social security ($1.6T), interest on debt ($1.1T) medicare ($1T), medicaid + ACA ($1T), AND THEN defense ($0.9T) complain about defense all you like, but healthcare fraud is a way bigger factor. hundreds of billions per year. this is only going to get worse, because the fraud is a structural part of the system – payouts to client groups in exchange for votes (normally D). in the US, only 47% of the population actually works (fully 14% of the population is working age and does not work). retirees are 18% and children 22%. the system I described above subsidizes 50m non-working people absolute minimum, but really it's far more because people that are paid to stay home and take care of their relatives are considered "workers" of that 47% of "actual workers" maybe one third does real work, the rest are shuffling papers around or doing fake email jobs. so you have, rough math, 50 million actual workers supporting 300 million dependents. that's the nature of the economy today. it will only accelerate. eventually you will have 10 million using AI tools to do all the work and 340 million dependents. the reason no one roots out the fraud is because it's the system that keeps our extremely fragile polity intact. the fraud is the UBI. the purpose of the system is what it does. of course, it's a deeply unfair system, because you are allowed to commit fraud if you are a politically protected client group of the democrats. DOGE was killed faster than any government program ever, because it attempted to root out the fraud. if you are honest and unwilling to commit fraud, you are a huge loser in this system. your neighbor will have their mortgage subsidized by some government program. they will get favorable SBA loans due to DEI. they will open a fake hospice or autism clinic. they will get paid for taking care of their neighbor's kid and vice versa. the primary skill in the labor market is learning how to extract money from state and federal government programs, not gaining skills or making yourself employable. if you are just trying to work an ordinary wagie job you are a huge sucker. you are paying 40-50% effective all in taxes to everyone else who is a net taker. the sad part is because AI is such a substantial productivity boost, it will actually keep this system going for a while longer, and maybe in perpetuity. AI boosts the 15% of the population that is actually productive so much that the remaining 85% can coast by. no one in charge will change this because they can't think of anything else. the political costs of a real UBI program are too great and we don't have the money for it anyway. so we will keep this covert fraud-based UBI program running indefinitely. unfortunately, if you are an honest wagie, you lose.

Every single half-baked explanation for why fertility declined is downstream of the actual reason, which is young women "getting educated" and joining the work force en masse. People will say literally anything other than "women, at scale, are having careers instead of kids."
Lauren Chen@TheLaurenChen

Boomers don't want to hear this, but one of the (many) reasons why my generation isn't having as many kids? A lot of millennials feel they can't depend on their parents for help the way they saw their own grandparents pitch in when they were growing up

If deportations are politically impossible and birthright citizenship stands any illusion of electoral legitimacy is over This isn’t a “suck it up and deal with political reality” situation This is “the government is illegitimate, time to pledge sacred oaths” territory
David Marcus@BlueBoxDave

Conservatives have to accept the real possibility that doing what it takes to carry out mass deportations is more than the public will tolerate. The administration is clearly bending to that popular pressure, and it might be a political reality that can’t be changed.

It's Biblical and good to convey something along the lines of, "God can give your future husband the supernatural capacity to get over it, and give your marriage the grace to overcome your past." That's godly. While you're at it, you should also explain that "many quality Christian men won't want to touch you with a ten-foot pole, and that's okay, because God's got plans." But this sounds more like, "Your previous whorishness has given you a bouquet of imperishable glory roses" or "your past harlotries will turn into holy rubies and purity pearls." Redeemed sin is a blessing paid for by a bloody Savior. But there's nothing "beautiful" about it. It's still ugly as sin. Something ugly, baptized in blood, is still ugly. It's just covered. Romans 8:1 says, "There is, therefore, now no condemnation for those of us in Christ Jesus." But the lack of shame in forgiven sins does NOT mean those sins are something you take pride in. That's the error here. God allows your sins to be overcome, but He doesn't turn them into purity piñatas full of little chastity medals. Romanticize whoredom any more for the easy X-likes, and you'll have church girls aiming for slut-trophies so they get a good testimony out of it. I promise you that's not far-fetched.

Does the pro Iran war crowd have an argument other than, "YOU'RE AS CRAZY AS TUCKER!"? This is getting to be the persuasion-by-threat I wrote about this week re: voter fraud, masking, climate change, etc etc. You might intimidate people out of saying what they believe, but you don't change any minds.

Yes I’m “gravitating” in a certain direction by being skeptical of US interventionism as I have been loudly and publicly for as long as I’ve had a platform. This is a new development. This general point of view I’ve had for the past 15 years is an ominous sign. Yes good point David. You’re an astute observer.

@MattH_4America I'm listening and screaming at the top of my lungs to my peers, to anyone who will listen. I hope I can get at least some of them to rouse from their slumber and honor their God-given duty to the next generation, to their own, not strangers. But it's a hard sell.

For most Americans under the age of 45, the American Dream is dead To everyone over the age of 60, married, with 3 kids, 6 grandkids, and a home that is paid for, just understand this: Your country will radically change in the next 10-15 years because no one is listening to us

The younger generations, millennials and Gen Z, want life affordability, good jobs, and an America focused government, not one that engages in more foreign wars. It’s a cruel irony that the American troops soon to be sent into Iran will be Gen Z and millennials (again), by the very President and admin that promised no more foreign wars, to make life affordable for Americans, and a strong American economy producing good American jobs.

Unpopular opinion: waiting to have sex until marriage is one of the *best* things you can do for your long-term chances, because co-learning sex is one of those key bonding rituals which glues you to your spouse. Emotionally, spiritually, and physically. Guys who arrive at the wedding chapel with a body count often have a disassociated capacity for personal intimacy, and women who arrive at the wedding chapel with a high body count often have warped self-respect. In each case, they will end up trying to repair damage *on top of* trying to re-teach themselves the art of doing it new. Just spare yourself the headache, and wait. Yes, it'll be clumsy education as you're both fumbling and bumbling through it. But if neither of you has a lot of experience, it's all new, and there can be a great deal of joy in that.
Bradley Grey@BradleyGrey_

Waiting for marriage is stupid. As a young man I was a Christian and I waited for marriage to have sex. It was a terrible decision that led to me getting married for the wrong reason - just to have sex. If we had sex before we got married I am convinced we would never have gotten married because we would have realized it's not worth it. Instead we went through with it and got divorced 5 years later. Young men can't make rational decisions when they're sex deprived.

American citizens are now keenly aware that their taxes are just redistribution programs for foreign carpetbaggers, comfortable retirees, and social degenerates. We have not seen the bottom yet caused by this loss of legitimacy.

We owe $8,000 to the IRS because we withdrew money to take care of my wife's mother to move her near us so we can take care of her. Do you know how hard it is to see these stories showing the fraud and corruption taking place with our tax money when writing the check?

I agree that women shouldn’t be discouraged if they have a promiscuous past. What they should do however is be prepared to do the work to recondition their reward system and behaviors and reverse whatever trauma they caused or experienced. Telling them that they can just magically be great wives because Jesus saves is a lie. You aren’t going to become a professional athlete or mathematician because Jesus saves either; you actually have to train and learn. Being a great “wife” or “husband” requires self development. If you have been doing all the wrong things, then you are going to require MORE self development then a woman who did the right things. And that’s ok. But what is not ok is these simp pastors lying to these women and telling them otherwise.
Samuel Sey@SlowToWrite

If you are a single Christian woman who used to be promiscuous, do not be discouraged. You are not damaged goods. Jesus has turned your ashes into a crown of beauty and transformed your promiscuity into purity.

The Senate's institutional hollowness was exposed when Thune and Schumer pushed through a 3 AM vote to strip ICE funding with only 5 senators present. I no longer take seriously any appeals to procedure or tradition. The rules are engineered to serve K Street, preserve lawmakers' comfort, and sideline the public they claim to represent.

The war in Iran is turning young voters away from the GOP, and anyone telling you otherwise is gaslighting you. They may not switch to voting Democrat (as they should not, because American foreign policy has been awful under both parties), but many will simply stay home. The GOP already struggles to generate large voter turnout for anyone who is not Trump, and this conflict is disenfranchising younger voters and independents in record numbers. The only people who support war with Iran are boomers who believe Israel is the source of all good in the world, and spiritual boomers who treat Fox News like a direct link to God. Every single person I know in real life is against it. Diehard MAGA supporters cannot deliver a midterm victory on their own. Why is this approach failing so badly? Because conditions in the country are not good enough to make it palatable without widespread backlash. If the economy were booming, the cost of consumer goods were much lower, foreign visa workers were not replacing American jobs, and younger people could afford homes, it would have been an easier sell. The truth is that Trump has faced incredible roadblocks at every turn, both judicially and legislatively. He cannot even get the SAVE Act through, which should be a slam dunk. Our Senate has been largely useless and often malicious. If things are not already going well, you cannot simply pile on something like this. I am not one of the "deportations are not even happening" people, because they absolutely are. We now have net negative immigration for the first time in decades. The problem is that there is no realistic way to deport people at the rate they were entering. We should have paid Erik Prince his proposed bounty to take over operations and complete the task successfully. You cannot treat political X as an accurate reflection of how the rest of the country feels, but the sentiment is clearly trickling down into the broader population. Our support for Israel is becoming a major issue with younger voters. Even political normies are starting to talk about the country being owned by Israel. Water cooler discussions are shifting toward billionaire pro-Israel donors like Miriam Adelson, with people claiming Trump is owned. This represents a huge shift. Democrats offer the same level of support to Israel (look at the funding provided during the Israel-Palestine conflict), but they are much quieter about it. Republicans throw a celebration every time they mention Israel. This completely turns off younger voters. This is not black-pilling. While I do not believe the midterms will bring a total blue wave, I do believe Democrats will take the House and Senate in the coming elections. Why would Republican voters turn out when Congress has failed to accomplish anything meaningful in the last year? 2028 is not entirely lost, but at this rate it will be. Trump needs to pivot all of his focus back to the domestic issues that won him his elections. That is what normal people care about. When average soccer moms are talking about Netanyahu being the president of the United States, your party is in trouble. The bombings are already unpopular, but boots on the ground would be a disaster. US casualties would not sit well with anyone, and for a party already suffering from dwindling support, it would be a death sentence in the elections.

Health care is ridiculously expensive because a shrinking group of people who have to pay for their own health care also has to pay for a growing group of people who don’t have to pay anything at all.
Sara McGee for Texas HD 132@SaraForTexLege

It’s because have allowed our entire healthcare system to become a multibillion dollar FOR PROFIT industry and the Citizens United decision made it so money flows freely to campaign coffers to keep it that way. It is literally that simple.
