£52m + no add-ons + they also managed to negotiate 20% sell-on-clause.
You could argue that we still ended up paying over the odds mainly because he was seen as the most immediate ready-made replacement for Romero, who will inevitably leave.

I struggle to see the justification behind ~100m on Tonali.
Has elite qualities (intensity, duel winner, ball striking) but ones already in the squad. Passing is better than marketed but it's when facing play. He struggles to play on the half-turn & is poor in smaller spaces.
