I’m so excited that my thesis work from @SDFlies lab is finally out in the world! We address how a stem cell niche forms, and how niche shape impacts its function. Additionally, we show that stem cells aid in shaping the niche that guides their behavior

We are paying $3400 for infant daycare at Harvard. In 2017 as a first year postdoc, this is higher than my post tax salary. It does not make sense financially to work as a postdoc and to raise a kid. You wonder why some women quit science at this point??

Did you know: UCSF daycare is $2800/mo for infants? 😳😳😳 A UCSF 2bedroom is $2779/mo $5579/mo in just rent and daycare 🤯 To afford rent, daycare, and everything else, I have a 2x90min commute and live 30miles away from campus. It is very difficult. @UAW5810
