Today, before joining the MPs, I laid a foundation stone for a building that will house the Rtd Gen Caleb Akandwanaho School of Research and Walter Rodney Block. I thank the leadership of NALI for this initiative.
My ka-blaza mocked Dr Kizza Besigye @kizzabesigye1 - my leader, who stated that elections alone cannot oust dictator Yoweri @KagutaMuseveni from power. @HEBobiwine , took his empty head and big mouth to the elections twice, each time promising he was removing the dikiteta. He named the last elections “Protest Vote” which he broke down into phases: Kanoonye, Kaloonde, Kakuume, Kabanje.
We sat back and watched him lead Uganda’s “liberation struggle’ which he premised on an uncritical approach to democracy as handed down from the global North. Twice, my ka-blaza mobilized Ugandans for democratic elections aimed at ousting the systems of dictator Museveni from power.
Today, Bobi Wine is living outside Uganda: he fled from the country after hiding within for two months - as a fugitive in his own country. Is it time for ALL Uganda’s freedom fighters to admit we need a serious rethink, reflection, reconfiguration and refashioning of OUR struggle for freedom? Isn’t it time we all began thinking of how else to reclaim our power back from the dictator, beginning with Dr Kizza Besigye’s premise that elections on their own cannot lead to our freedom?

"We are here to ask America to stop blocking us from liberating ourselves. We could have fought against dictator Museveni and defeated him, but we cannot fight against American trained soldiers... Put conditions for democracy first." -@HEBobiwinetheafricareport.com/412415/hunted-…
While the regime is busy hosting retired tourists for empty optics, Bobi Wine is engaging real voices like Jeffrey Smith people who shape global opinion on democracy and human rights.
One side is chasing photos, the other is building international leverage. The difference is clear.
UPDATE: Regime security operatives have raided the home of my assistant, Comrade Najja Sherif. When they found he was not around, they abducted his wife instead after she told them she did not know his whereabouts. What a cowardly regime!
In the 2021 election, the police officers who were attached to our campaign were attacked violently and subjected to all manner of brutality. After the election, several of them including their head, Afande Kato were arrested and detained for a long period. We learnt that they were questioned about our sources of funding, who I was meeting, what our plans were, etc. They were also interrogated about why they always sought to protect us from violent attacks by other sections of the police and military.
Now, 2026, we have learnt that the officers who were attached to our campaign have also been arrested, and are being interrogated. These officers are usually targeted for doing their job with professionalism and patriotism. May we all stand in solidarity with them, and work for their freedom.
