Balstrode in #PeterGrimes by #BenjaminBritten is a fair-minded, if imperfect person.
I like to hope that's me too.
If you haven't seen the opera, please do.
Grimes is an ambitious fisherman driven to madness and suicide by a baying mob who are incited by malicious gossip.

@jorge_jagaj1962 @Politicsworld Are you an expert in cigarette burns?
English

@Politicsworld Those aren't cigarette burns and the story seems to be a bit different.
English

@UKUN_NewYork @UKinJerusalem Bloody well do something then. Expel the vile ambassador Hotovely for starters. Disband MP Friends of Israel groups. Stop trade. Sanctions.
English

@LawrenceTJ13 @DrNeilStone I know of course. But you were being .....

When you are so far down the anti vaccine conspiracy theory rabbit hole that you don't even believe in a meningitis outbreak
Meningitis is one of the worst infections out there. You should fear and respect it.
I'm an Infectious Diseases doctor. I do.
Neil Oliver@thecoastguy
And bollocks to the meningitis nonsense as well.

@Balstrode1 @DrNeilStone Apparently the Kent out break could be easily irradicated if the students abstained for several weeks from mixing body fluids
English

@Balstrode1 @DrNeilStone As soon as a small outbreak which has hopefully been contained but guys like this shouting for nationwide boosters vaccines. After all the issues with the Covid shot.
English

@DrNeilStone The 3 people it affected which was caused by the side effect of the COVID vax. Ok mate.
English

@DrNeilStone People won't be taking any vaccines for the rest of their lives now.
English

@LawrenceTJ13 @DrNeilStone The vaccine prevents tragedies this, as well as deaths.
In the early 80s when I did my paediatrics, admissions with bacterial meningitis were commonplace

English

@DrNeilStone Two people have died so far this year, previous years like 2015 saw 60 deaths. In addition the fatalities were bacterial not viral, so why would they need a vaccine. And again its not a traditional vaccine being given, its another Frankenstein cocktail of protein and DNA triggers
English

@a_bodhisattvas @DrNeilStone "...viruses that don't exist"
Bollocks, bollocks, bollocks!
English

@DrNeilStone Meningitis is the name of inflammation of the meninges. It is caused by many things. None are viruses that don't exist. Bacteria show up after the inflammation and alteration in pH, etc... have already happened. Bacteria just want to biofilm and chill...and eat dead tissues.
English

@JamieAA_Again @thecoastguy Look at the last sentence: "the majority of the colonising meningococci were non-typable"
Not all snakes are poisonous
Not all meningococci cause disease
English

@thecoastguy Correct.
What they aren't so forthcoming with is the fact that this Bacteria is found in half of healthy young adults.

English

This is simply a vile thing to say.

Trump: “Robert Mueller just died. Good, I’m glad he’s dead. He can no longer hurt innocent people! President DONALD J. TRUMP”
English

@masuzafi How many bottles he has to drink to deal with such question?
The Israelis will make sure America is drowned ... and he will call that a victory!

@Daractenus @campbellclaret I am proud of our PM. He may seem a bit bloodless but I was tired of the circus & he has some very handy personality traits for this moment. Plus despite some cock-ups this government is quietly working to rebuild the country & leave it in a better place than they found it.

English

@DrSteveTaylor Is there any suggestion as to what I am supposed to divert and to where?
English

Government sets target for one in four GP referrals to be ‘diverted’ by 2027
The hospitals are making such a bad job of reducing the waiting lists so
Dear GPs kindly sort it out for us!
There is one GP for every 5.3 hospital Doctors
Do the maths🤷🏻♂️

@CowboyRedBeard @PolitlcsUK What are you implying?
Not just vile, but stupid
English

@PolitlcsUK I wonder why this disease which was all but eradicated in the UK has suddenly began making a comeback back.
In other news immigration is still at a historic high.

@Nath22717146 @bmay @sworboys @DeborahMeaden It's not particularly useful in older children
x.com/i/status/20338…
Balstrode 🐶@Balstrode1
@Helenno33567401 @MichaelRosenYes @bmay Vaccine takes ~14 days to be effective, and its protection is quite limited in older children & adults (but vital in infants & young children who are most vulnerable to MenB). The incubation period for infection is about 3-5 days. That's why prophylacic antibiotics are offered.
English

@bmay @sworboys @DeborahMeaden The NHS don’t see it as cost effective because it doesn’t last particularly long.
It’s given to babies born after 2015 as they’re most as risk during the first formative years.
It’s not like it’s given to teenagers in schools.
