‘’ The Realities of Modern Greece Modern Greece is not the direct continuation of ancient Greek civilization. It is an artificial buffer state created in the 19th century by the Great Powers (mainly Britain, Russia, and France) against the Ottoman Empire through political engineering. 1. Flag and Colors The blue color of the Greek flag comes from the first king, Otto, a Bavarian prince. The shade was chosen to reflect Bavarian blue. Some claim the striped design resembles the British East India Company flag. 2. Alphabet and Language The modern Greek alphabet and language were largely “revived” in the 19th century as part of nation-building. Ancient Greek had been a dead language for centuries, and the current form (Demotiki) was shaped artificially to create national identity. 3. National Heroes Many key heroes of the 1821 Greek War of Independence, such as Markos Botsaris and Theodoros Kolokotronis, were Arvanites — Orthodox Albanians. Their ethnic origin is largely Albanian, not ancient Greek. 4. Population and Ethnic Composition The people of modern Greece have no direct ethnic or genetic connection to the ancient Greeks. The population is a mix of Turks (especially Karamanlides from Anatolia), Albanians, Slavs, Macedonians, and other Balkan groups. 5. Artificial State Formation Greece was established in 1830 by the Great Powers as a buffer zone against the Ottomans. Its first king was a foreigner (Bavarian Otto), and the state was built according to foreign geopolitical interests rather than organic historical continuity. In summary: Modern Greece romantically claims ancient Hellenic heritage, but in reality it is a 19th-century construction — an ethnic mosaic of Albanians, Slavs, Christian Turks, and other Balkan peoples shaped by political engineering, not historical descent. ‘’

Today, TRNC President Erhürman met Greek Cypriot leader Christodoulides under UN auspices. But while “positive talks” are claimed, EOKA is still celebrated, children are indoctrinated, and South Cyprus is increasingly militarised. It’s clear what the Greek Cypriot leader wants.

The Aegean Sea must be shared in a more fair and equitable manner. Greece is illegally militarizing the Turkish islands under occupation by disregarding international agreements. The Aegean Sea has historically been a common geography shared by the Turkish and Roman peoples. However, sharing this sea in a fairer and more equal way is essential for regional peace and stability. The current status quo is being disrupted by Greece’s unilateral actions, which disregard Turkey’s rights. The 1923 Treaty of Lausanne and the 1947 Paris Peace Treaty granted sovereignty over the Eastern Aegean Islands (Lesvos/Mytilene, Chios, Samos, Ikaria, the Dodecanese group, and others) to Greece only on the condition that they remain demilitarized (non-military). Article 13 of the Lausanne Treaty explicitly stipulates that no naval bases or fortifications shall be established on these islands, and Greek military forces there shall be limited to the normal level of gendarmerie and police forces proportionate to the rest of Greek territory. The Paris Peace Treaty similarly requires that the Dodecanese Islands “shall be and shall remain demilitarized.” Greece, however, has been systematically violating these international commitments for decades. Since the 1960s, it has first secretly and then openly turned these islands into military bases, airfields, missile batteries, and troop concentrations. In recent years, the deployment of modern weapons such as Patriot systems and LORA ballistic missiles has further escalated the violation. These actions constitute a “fundamental breach” of the treaties and render the legal validity of the Lausanne provisions regarding the islands debatable. These islands, located just a few kilometers off Turkey’s coastline, pose a clear security threat to Anatolia. While Greece cites “defense rights” as an excuse to ignore the agreements, it is in fact trying to turn the Aegean Sea into a Greek lake. This attitude is contrary to the principle of equitable sharing. The Aegean is a sea in which both countries have equal rights; a just solution must be found on issues such as continental shelf, territorial waters, and airspace. In conclusion, Greece’s illegal militarization of the “Turkish islands under occupation” (those with geographical and historical ties to Anatolia) by disregarding the agreements is the main source of regional tension. True peace can only be achieved through respect for the treaties and equitable sharing. Turkey will continue to defend its rightful position based on international law. Lasting stability in the Aegean Sea will begin when Greece ends its unilateral faits accomplis.

In order to sign an EEZ agreement with Italy; The Adriatic and the Mediterranean, Italy and greece accepted that the Diapontia and Strofadia islands in the Ionian Sea do not have maritime jurisdiction like the mainland. This of course created a trump card and a precedent for 🇹🇷 to use. Now greece has refuted this unjust thesis. THE FULL EFFECT ON THE ISLANDS IS A PRODUCT OF MYTH.

YUNANİSTAN, ARNAVUTLAR, SLAVLAR, ULAHLAR, HRİSTİYAN TÜRKLER VE DİĞER BALKAN HALKLARINDAN OLUŞMAKTADIR VE “YUNAN DNA’SI” DİYE BİR ŞEY YOKTUR Modern Yunanistan, Arnavutlar, Slavlar, Hristiyan Türkler, Ulahlar ve diğer Balkan halklarından oluşan etnik bir mozaiktir. 1) Türkiye-Yunanistan Nüfus Mübadelesi sırasında, etnik olarak yunan olmayan yaklaşık 1,5 milyon Anadolu Rumu Yunanistan’a gönderilmiştir. Bunların arasında yaklaşık 200.000 Karaman Türkü bulunmaktadır. 2) Günümüz Yunanistan’ında yaşayan insanlar, 1923’te nüfus mübadelesi kapsamında Anadolu’dan Yunanistan’a zorla göç ettirilen Rumlar hariç, Arnavutların, Ulahların ve Slavların torunlarıdır.

Turkey’s Strategic Deterrence in a “Ring of Fire” The map reveals a brutal truth: over the past 30 years, Turkey’s surroundings have hosted more than 20 major conflicts — Bosnian War (1992-95), Kosovo (1998), Abkhazia (2008), Russia-Georgia (2008), Chechnya, Second Nagorno-Karabakh (2020), Iraq (2003-11), Syrian Civil War, Libyan Civil War, Israel-Lebanon (2006), ongoing Israel-Palestine clashes, Afghanistan, and now Russia-Ukraine (2022-). Yet Turkey stands untouched — a calm blue island amid the red explosions. This is no accident. It is the direct result of powerful, multi-layered deterrence. Key Pillars of Turkish Deterrence: •Military Strength: NATO’s second-largest army in Europe, enhanced by world-class indigenous systems (Bayraktar TB2/Akıncı/Kızılelma drones, Hisar/Siper air defenses, TCG Anadolu, cruise missiles). Any aggressor faces a battle-hardened, highly motivated force with real combat experience from Syria, Libya, and support in Karabakh. •Geography: Control of the Straits, Anatolia’s rugged mountains, and strategic depth turn any conventional invasion into a logistical nightmare. •Historical Reputation: Gallipoli (1915), the War of Independence, Korea (Kunuri), and Cyprus (1974) have established that fighting Turkey carries an extremely high cost in blood and prestige. WWII Example – Even the Nazis Held Back
During World War II, Nazi Germany’s Blitzkrieg crushed Poland in ~1 week and France in ~6 weeks. Yet serious invasion plans for Turkey were shelved. The German High Command recognized the difficulty of Anatolia’s terrain, Turkey’s large standing army, and — crucially — the risk to vital chromium supplies (essential for German artillery, tanks, and aircraft). Albert Speer warned Hitler that losing Turkish chromium would cripple armaments production within months, as the Turks would likely destroy the mines in case of attack. Even at the height of their power, the Nazis calculated that attacking Turkey was not worth the enormous cost. Today, the dynamic continues. Regional powers and great states prefer hybrid tactics or proxies rather than direct confrontation, knowing the price would be prohibitive. Turkey’s blue calm amid the chaos is the product of deliberate, strong defense — the best form of deterrence. It has not only survived a burning neighborhood but has become a decisive regional power. 🇹🇷
