People out here acting like 80s and 90s kids regularly watched movies from the 50s and 60s.

#WATCH | Washington, DC | Former US Ambassador to India, Kenneth Juster, says, "On Pakistan's successful courting of the Trump administration, which now extends to being an intermediary in the US-Iran talks. Obviously, on multiple levels and for many reasons, this is an irritant to India and a surprise to many of us... Pakistan's warm relations with the United States may cause India to limit its response to the next significant cross-border terrorist incident. At the very least, unlike other previous incidents, and I was an ambassador when we had the Pulwama and Balakot incident, India may have doubts as to whether the United States will support a muscular response to Pakistani-based terrorist groups. Of course, as someone involved in U.S.-India relations in both the public and private sectors over the last 26 years, I hope that we get our bilateral relationship fully back on track, with each side taking the necessary steps to truly make a mutually beneficial partnership. Given India's large population, its market size, its technological talent, and its growing military, its rise will be one of the most significant geopolitical stories of this century. In my view, it's in the interests of both the United States and India for America to be a positive part of that story." (Hudson Institute/YouTube)

We need the full spectrum: Cato Institute. Cicero Institute. Caesar Institute. Marius Foundation. Sulla Center. Pompey Platform. Antonine Alliance. Augustus Organization.

The idea of beautification and public monuments in Washington is a sound principle. However, the size is utterly vulgar.

War will forgive many sins, but not the confusion of aims and desired outcomes. As I write in @WarOnTheRocks, the war on Iran follows a long American tradition of striking with precision in the absence of strategy. warontherocks.com/tactical-succe…

Peru votes today. I was there in March and saw a country almost detached from politics. There's nothing else quite like it in Latin America. People treat politics like a media show with little importance in their daily lives. It's curious because, despite the permanent crisis of having had eight presidents in ten years, it's still one of the most dynamic economies in Latin America. Investment is growing by perhaps 10% this year. And it's domestic investors who are betting on the country. That reflects the strength of some institutions, especially the Central Bank, where its president, Julio Velarde, has remained in power for more than 20 years. Many talk about building him a statue to celebrate what he's done. But no country can endure that reality forever. It's also a country with major challenges: More than 70% of the country in the informal economy. The massive growth of illegal mining. And an economy that could be growing not at 2.5% as currently estimated, but at 5%, 6%, or 7%, given demand for its minerals and other exports. Much will depend on who is elected. And with 35 candidates, anything is possible.

“Fourth, carry out a final barrage of leadership strikes, eliminating the Iranian officials who had been spared for the purpose of negotiations. Iran’s leaders must be made to understand that their lives literally depend on reaching a negotiated settlement to Trump’s liking. If they refuse to do so, they will be killed.”washingtonpost.com/opinions/2026/…
