@steven_cas85123 @spooked75 @DUNBAR74 His method of asking has essentially been the school bully who threatened to beat you up if you didn't hand over your lunch money and belongings for 12 months, then crying to you for help when kids from the school 2 towns over are throwing stones at him from behind a fence.

@spooked75 @DUNBAR74 You don't understand Trump. We don't need help with the Strait. He asked because not too long ago he said our allies wouldn't help us if asked. So he asked assuming they wouldn't and proving his former statement accurate.

As an American I have something I want to tell Europeans. Enough with your fucking defeatism. You once possessed some of the most powerful militaries in the world, act like it. Europe's enemy is solely Russia and that's it. Unlike the United States, Europe doesn't run around making worldwide enemies, and unlike the US, Europe isn't Israel's bitch. Some Europeans think the United States leaving NATO would be a bad thing. I think Europe should look to its own defense. Two to three years of peace in the last 51 years, that's the US Record. In those 51 Years, with the exception of the war here in Ukraine and the former Yugoslavia, Europe has been at peace during that time. As an American living in Europe, I can tell you, Americans don't think like Europeans. They only think about themselves and what's best for them. You as Europeans need to stop thinking less of yourselves, you're far better than you think you are.

Hidden in Plaid Cymru’s manifesto is a Welsh version of Sadiq Khan’s ULEZ. This is a party of zealous net zero dogmatists, seemingly indifferent to the financial realities facing ordinary Welsh families, and all too willing to impose yet more costs on those already struggling.

@MikeMau45138613 @DaveYates86 @WarClandestine Ok I'll bite...what do you think would happen medium-long term in that wild scenario? Where the US holds the rest of the world's trade to ransom through hoarding, restriction of oil and price gouging?

Iran is proving how NATO provides little to no benefit to the US. Not only does the US not need any help from NATO, they aren’t willing to help anyways. NATO gives Europe security assurances via our military, without paying their share. We, the US taxpayer, essentially pay for the defense of Europe, and we receive nothing in return. We don’t need NATO, but they DESPERATELY need us.

@tobyasky It is a theory that has merits. EPL clubs play more games at higher intensity than other leagues. That is why fans love the EPL. Forget data for a moment. Did you watch Wolves vs Liverpool? Have you ever seen the bottom team play the defending champs like that in any league?

Atletico Madrid 5 v 2 Tottenham Atletico Madrid - 45 games played Tottenham - 41 games played Real Madrid 3 v 0 Man City Real Madrid - 42 games played Man City - 47 games played Galatasaray 1 v 0 Liverpool Galatasaray - 42 games played Liverpool - 43 games played Bayer Leverkusen 1 v 1 Arsenal Bayer Leverkusen - 40 games played Arsenal - 47 games played PSG 5 v 2 Chelsea PSG - 42 games played Chelsea - 46 games played Newcastle 1 v 1 Barcelona Newcastle - 48 games played Barcelona - 43 games played I remember when Flamengo met Chelsea in the CWC, Maresca was talking about how the games were too much, then a journalist told him how many games Flamengo has also played, he kept quiet. Any team that has played more games at this point is usually because they’re chasing lots of titles, it’s a price to pay to win many things. Chelsea are still in the cup, PSG has been knocked out of their cup since by Paris FC. Hence, Chelsea has played more games. Arsenal are chasing a quadruple, despite that, they’ve only played 7 games more, you thought it was 20 games more I guess. Real Madrid has been knocked out of the cup by Albacete 2 months ago, City are literally still in the race for a quadruple. Still, 5 games difference. Newcastle just got knocked out by City twice in both the FA and Carabao cup in the last one month. Same way, Atletico Madrid has played more games than Spurs because Atletico are in the cup final and Spurs has been knocked out of the cup games. Irrespective of all of these, the differences ain’t much between them. Fair to say, England has a higher spending power than all.
Emzel@Emzyl_

Reality is that stupid schedule from the English FA and PL has destroyed the PL teams this season, the games are just too many. Teams in Europe shouldn't play in the league cup, but nope, it's traditional so it's sacrosanct, no matter how stupid the traditional is, they still play two legged ties in league cup semis for no reason ffs. PL teams get no winter break and no time to rest. PL teams worked themselves in the first half of the season and have nothing left now

Ah great we got ours in 2019 lease so upgrade in 2024 to tesla model y. Kia was 48k Tesla model y was 46k Next tesla prob the standard model or long range standard at 40k-45k Each time more space, features, faster charging or more range.. (Only thing i will miss on new model y is the glass roof). But also did not have that in kia. But its one of few products that if we buy new tesla now would be 8k cheaper than our 2019 kia. 2x more space, 100km more range, 3x faster charging, and the tesla features (app, software).

Yes, my EV is better than an ICE car. It’s far cheaper to run, nice to drive, and at 70k miles still feels like new. The battery is more or less the capacity it had when it was new (a bit down at the moment as it’s still cold) too. Electrification was such a technological revolution, being able to abstract power sources from consumption - why would people resist applying it to cars? Your car runs on oil only, which is expensive and enriches various shady regimes around the world. My car runs on solar, wind, nuclear, natural gas - whatever is available! It gets cleaner as the grid gets cleaner, and even when running on fossil fuel electricity is cleaner than an ICE car. Plus I can charge it at home!

The job in question is an Application Operations Engineer. Why are Welsh speakers given an advantage? Job criteria like this should be banned in the public sector. 80% of Welsh people don’t speak Welsh. They should not be discriminated against.

Allowing people to use an AI bot to create sexualised images of people, including children, is terrible. That should go without saying. This was warned about before generative AI was even really a thing. Now it’s come true and people are actually defending it as free speech! Musk’s solution of monetising the feature is absolutely bonkers and is probably the most ineffective, pointless thing he could have done. What the hell are we doing? I’m seriously struggling to see what good generative AI has done since it took off a couple of years ago. The internet is flooded with slop, academic integrity is down the drain and now X is full of non-consensual pornographic images. The dystopian vision of AI is absolutely real.

@robharries83 @thebarryhorns When Haaland starts pinging 30 yarders in on a regular basis like Shearer, or beats Lewandowski's numerous records, then he can enter into that conversation. Shearer was way more than just an out and out marksman too, pre and post injuries.

@thebarryhorns I kind of agree but he might be the best 'out and out nine' I've ever seen. Not comparing him to R9, but if you look at other 'out and out marksmen' - van Nistelrooy, Batistuta, Lewandowski, Shearer, Fortune West - he's better than all of them imo.

This is interesting info the England Supporters Club have about World Cup ticket allocations. The key bits: - Applications for the group games and potential knockouts go into FIFA. FIFA share the details with the England Supporters Club, who then apply their ticket rules to the applications and presumably verify with FIFA who is eligible to buy what. - All successful ticket applicants then buy their tickets from FIFA. - Here’s the best bit. If you’ve bought tickets for the route to the final, you pay for them up front and FIFA will refund you if your team gets knocked out… minus a yet to be determined refund fee!!

@tonyd21a @robprogressive An inherent problem with that option though: property valuations are entirely subjective. We had valuations done recently which ranged wildly on a pretty standard house, I can't see that it could be tied to the value of the land/property. Administratively it'd be a nightmare.

@BenbowPeter @robprogressive I agree regarding ripping up & starting again. A much simplified tax system, shifting away the burden of tax on working to something like a land tax. This would also have the affect of encouraging those that sit on land, empty residential or commercial property to actually use it.

Everyone shouts “Tax the Rich”… but look at the facts. A £150k earner pays £53,460 in tax. A £25k earner pays £2,486. It takes 21 people on £25k to contribute what one person on £150k does. So why drive high earners out of the UK when they already shoulder far more of the burden? The problem isn’t how much tax is collected. The problem is how much the government wastes. Stop blaming the rich. Start holding the government to account.

@tonyd21a @robprogressive "fair" taxation would be ripping it up, and starting again with no loopholes. It's vastly over complicated currently and only those with the finances to fund high end accountancy tricks are able to play the system fully. How are you defining wealth by the way?

@robprogressive No one apart from you lot are talking about expecting those who earn their money through employment to pay more tax. What we want is to make taxation fair and that those who accrue money by just owning assets to be treated the same as us workers! Tax wealth not work!

@MUFC99Box @joedunford200 @NiallHignett @ScannellLe35289 Price per acre is higher in Somerset than Northumberland. Without the specific details of what they sold vs what they bought it's entirely possible that they upscaled based on price metrics alone. The farm they sold will also still be producing, so productivity hasn't changed.

@CarolineNL_GB @CandiedOpinions @carto_graph In theory the system is already in place: anyone in receipt of certain levels of UC that they've applied for could automatically qualify for WFA. The current UC method of handing it out then taking it back is mad (same process applies for child benefits).
