I do not believe I have ever read a statement that repulsed me more thoroughly than this one: "As long as it benefits the people of our nation, nothing is immoral." A people who can justify any horror, any betrayal, any cruelty through such a lens is not worthy of being saved. And I believe, wholeheartedly, that we are a people worth saving.
