Opening Day Batter Prop Leans & Thoughts👨‍🔬 ~ Will Smith Hard not to want to back a Dodgers hitter looking through this lineup. He's seen Gallen well in the past, hitting .318 and slugging .455 in 22 ABs. Smith demolished RHP last season, batting .309 and slugging .513 as well. Gallen leans on his 4SFB, KNCV, and SL trio the most. Smith challenges this well slugging .482, .429, and .448 last szn respectively. Also helps I just don't love Gallen's stuff and Smith has looked great to start Spring Training. ~ Corbin Carroll On the other side of the LA/AZ game, is where we look at Carroll. He's struggled so far in Spring Training, hitting just .105 in 19 ABs so far. If we look back to the end of last year, he didn't really finish all that great with his expected stats. In his L15 ABs of last season, he averaged just an 88mph EV and a 0% Barrel%. Ew. Yoshi has seen success against Carroll as well. Carroll bats just .059 against Yoshi in 17 ABs. Yoshi is ironically better against LHB as well, giving up an OBA of just .174 last season. Fade the star I guess. ~ Julio Rodriguez Usually if I look for batter props, I target superstars and like to fade. Some matchups are too in between though. JRod gets Bibee on Thursday. JRod has seen just enough of Bibee to keep me in on this. Bibee struggled against RHB last year, and JRod excels against RHP. JRod matches up well pitch wise too, as Bibee relies majorly on a CT, SNK, 4SFB mix. JRod sees a SNK too well, hitting .366 against it last year from RHP. Obviously these are all just first looks at the board and what pops out to me. Not saying I am playing any of these, nor saying should you.
