A REMINDER ABOUT CAMPAIGN SIGNS
The photo on the left below was taken on 04/23/2026 when this sign was placed on private property, with the consent of the owner, on Harford Rd in Parkville, MD. The photo on the right was taken yesterday (04/27/2026) by the property owner after the sign was stolen the night before. A police report has been filed and an investigation is under way.
Tampering with Campaign signs is not only childish, it's a crime. Stealing or destroying campaign signs in Maryland is a criminal misdemeanor, generally punishable by a fine of up to a $1000, imprisonment for 60 to 90 days, or both. Unauthorized removal or tampering with these signs on private property constitutes theft, with potential additional charges for trespassing and destruction of property.
You should probably ask yourself if it's worth a criminal record and up to 3 months in jail before you do something stupid.
We do have video surveillance on most of our sign locations, and we will prosecute those that break the law.
